Every action has a consequence. It's August 20th and the last day of the summer holidays for Koyomi Araragi. After the realization that he hasn't started any of his holiday assignments, with the first day of school tomorrow looming over him, he decides to cheat the system by calling the help of Shinobu to travel back in time. Except it seems they've travelled back too far, so far back that it's 11 years in the past and the date is May 13th. By sheer luck the date is the day before Mothers Day when Mayoi was killed in a car accident. Deciding to alter the past, Koyomi must face the effects it has on the future.

Back For The Snail
It's difficult to rate this episode on its own because you need to have seen or read both Kizumonogatari and the “Mayoi Snail” arc from Bakemonogatari to get the full impact from the story. On its own this arc tells a rather standard time-travelling story but once you understand exactly the hero's relationship with the two girls in the story it takes on greater significance; in particular, the character of Shinobu is central here so you really need to know who she is.This episode is also significant for having far less of the sexual comedy of some of the earlier discs in the series: this is a disc where the focus is strongly on the story with very little padding or extraneous material. While often these stories tell us something about the heroines, in this case we learn more about Araragi, whose instinct to save others is really the subject here. Recommended.

Marty would have been Foxed!
This series is weird and all over the place, literally! But i love it... Time travel this time, but the fate of the world seems to revolve around a donut shop and a certain little lost girl. By the by; because I first watched this on those streaming websites I became a fan and now buy the series spending my a great deal of my hard earned cash... I can't be the only one either, F.Y.I!

Utterly brilliant story, beautiful artwork. The end is awesome, it's the best story of the monogatari second series. One of those that makes you think a little bit more I feel...Would recommend this to any anime fan.
