Hits the Ball Out of the Park!!
This cd is over the top. I have had problems controlling my eating all of my life but it didn't matter when I was younger cuz I was one of those blessed people who could eat an elephant and not gain an ounce. Well after menopause and a sedentary life style that changed and I put on about 50 lbs. I have bought more books and joined weight control groups and went up and down with my weight for the last 15 years. Finally I decided to try hypnosis as nothing else seems to make a real change. I've been using this now for 5 days and yes I know that's not long but let me tell you all since the first listening I don't even want the stuff I couldn't resist before. Yesterday I ate 1076 calories and I had to force myself to eat a snack to bring it up to that. It's not a matter of controlling myself anymore, I'm just not interested in eating all the junk I did before. In fact I'm enjoying vegetables - I used to have to force myself to eat them - and am not interested in the sweets that I have always been addicted to. This is like a miracle! Furthermore I'm exercising every day!! Another thing I have had problems doing for years, same story as the eating control issue. I'd have to force myself to do it then when the wrong mood hit I'd take a day off, then another and so on. This cd only passes over the exercising but it sure took. The cd has several areas: hypnosis (wonderful!), self hypnosis, several meditations and affirmations. I listen to the hypnosis almost every day and also some of the meditations at different times. It doesn't take long and I've already dropped like 2.5 lbs in one week. If it changes I will update this review so as long as there is no update you can believe I am still thrilled with this cd. Anyone with problems with their weight should get this little cd. Check out my reviews you will see I can give hate reviews as easily as love ones so this is a true review. Nothing given to me, I paid full price for this baby and would pay more.

I've lost 30 pounds already without dieting and listening to this CD - if I can, anybody can!
Ok, I got this DVD several months ago and am only now writing a review. Why? Because it takes time to lose weight and keep it off - it's not an overnight thing. Especially me because I had 50 pounds to lose and I've been in a weight loss battle since I was born. Well, almost. I've lost thousands of pounds in my lifetime - once losing 115 pounds and another time 60 but hadn't been able to keep it off.Losing weight isn't about eating funny food combinations or starving yourself a couple of days a week or even watching every calorie you put in your mouth. If this has been your battle then you know that this is all in our head. I'm only speaking for myself, but the truth is I was almost never hungry when I overate or thirsty when I drank that 2nd glass of wine. Food and drink were my ways of comforting myself, celebrating, commiserating, fighting boredom, you name it. And I was sick of going up and down the scale and having 4 sizes of clothes in my closet. Enough!So, when I received this DVD as a gift (and yes, I felt a little insulted), I didn't open it for weeks. Then in my moment of "OMG I went up a size" I reached for the DVD. After listening to the longer hypnoses and meditations, I didn't stop eating, but I started thinking about food and when I ate it and why I ate it. So I decided I would NOT go on a diet or starve - I hate diets! - , I decided to give this The Wait/Weight is Over: Hypnosis/Meditation for Lasting Weight Loss some serious attention. AND IT WORKED AND STILL DOES!I started meditating and practicing the self-hypnosis Roberta Shapiro takes you through. Remarkably, I started to think before I put anything in my mouth - which stopped me more often than not - and drinking too. I really liked the "inner advisor" and "gratitude meditation" and I even started to do the shorter meditations on my own as I got more comfortable with it. In the first 2 of months I lost 19 pounds and felt great! In control! Then...I went off the path and did eat a little more than before for a couple of months. I didn't lose anything - but I also didn't gain! My whole life was full of ups and downs and back ups, but this time I maintained my weight for a total of 3 months. Then it was time for Roberta to jump start me back into weight loss mode. Making the right food choices by thinking first - and being mindful. Her voice is really soothing and even though at first it was hard for me to give in to just being there and not thinking about all the negative in my life while meditating, I've gotten to be pretty much of a pro at this part.And now I'm losing weight again in fact - I've lost 10+ more pounds and I'm really living and eating mindfully - reminding myself that food is fuel and exercise is my "looking and feeling younger" secret. Seriously - even though it sounds a little strange writing this. Without "Roberta" beside me on this journey I might have fallen down and never gotten up but when I need some gentle reminding and strength, she coaches me back on track.If you're ready to lose weight and live healthy - and you know it doesn't happen overnight but can still be pretty darn fast if you put your mind to it, then I highly HIGHLY recommend you get The Weight/Wait is Over by Roberta Shapiro. It will change your life.

It has been easy.
41 pounds and counting. I have never been so motivated and determined. It has been easy. ****UPDATE 60 and counting!!! ****UPDATE 72 and counting. Thank you so much for this tool. It has changed my life, I am an awesome eater.

Wonderful - Works better than I had hoped.
Let's begin this with - I have a pretty open mind. I don't have what my dad calls "ooga booga" beliefs, but I do think the mind can do very powerful things. And for meditation or hypnosis to work, you're going to need that "the mind is powerful" belief. That being said, this CD helped me develop better habits. I downloaded it so I could listen to it on headphones in bed, and not only is it extremely relaxing - it helps stop cravings and boosts confidence. There is a section where you mentally place unhealthy foods on a table. Then the guided mediation goes through the rest of the session. I personally placed fries and ice cream on my mental table. Before listening to this program, I would stop by once or twice a week to get either fries or ice cream at the drive-thru. After listening one time for 15 minutes I didn't crave either. They both actually sounded gross and the thought of eating either made me nauseous. I've listened to this maybe 3 or 4 times now. If I listened more, it would probably be beneficial, but I haven't craved (so I haven't eaten) fries or ice cream in over a month. That alone is worth the price of the CD. But I also feel more calm and confident, and that's worth way more.
