In-Wall iPad Mount for iPad Air1, Air2, PRO9.7, 5th, and 6th Generation

This is more of an escutcheon than a wall bracket but it is molded and looks nice. It is a good product, fits the current version of the ipad well, and went in in about an hour including wiring.That said, you need to be somewhat handy to install it. First, you are going to need to either cut the drywall over a stud or fireblock, or install a brace yourself -- this needs to be screwed into something to support it. Second, the outer lip is narrow, so you need to cut straight -- I used a plunge saw. Third, you are going to have to deal with the wiring -- and you do not want to have the apple adapter behind the drywall, not just for fire safety and heat -- but what if it wears out! For me, I put a single gang handy box behind the sheet rock with an outlet that has a built-in USB output and ran the USB cable, not needing the apple adapter. Something I encountered is that while the tablet looks best horizontal, many home automation apps only work vertical, such as the Bali Blinds extension for Wink. So, I installed the tablet vertically -- and had I realized this beforehand I probably would have gone with an ipad mini...Nevertheless, a wall mounted ipad is THE solution to home automation -- otherwise you always need your phone, and your guests cannot control the home... Additionally - I am using the tablet as a digital picture frame when not in use for home automation. I am concerned, however, about overheating and screen burn-in...TIP - if you ever need to get the tablet out, use a suction cup...

I can confirm as an owner of a first generation in wall iPad mount owner (the original fit a 3rd Gen iPad size), the person who reviewed/commented that the new bezel size is too small for the old hole is completely wrong. This fit perfectly in the old in wall mount hole and allowed me to upgrade to a 2018 gen iPad. The height of the unit (in landscape orientation), definitely doesn’t have as much overlap as the old mount, but it still adequately covers the hole in the wall. I used a single central screw to secure the mount to a stud directly behind the mount hole. This thing works great, looks good, and now gives me a few more years of use since my old 3rd Gen iPad stopped receiving iOS updates. For those previous Gen wall mount owners who were wary of upgrading due to the review saying it won’t cover the old hole—rest assured, if you cut the original hole correctly you should be just fine!

Nice Item, Pretty Basic but it looks GREAT! Easy to install, didn't really need instructions. Its a little hard to get out of the Mount so make sure when you put it in its ON and Plugged in. If you plan on removing this item daily to use, it'll be frustrating for you. The only way I found to easily remove it from the mount is to insert a RAZOR blade under the IPADs left corner and gently pry it out. But be gentle or it will scratch your IPAD or fall to the Ground if your not paying attention when it pops out.. I would have given 5 Stars but the PRICE is way to HIGH for a PIECE of Plastic with NO HARDWARE or Screws.. In my case a 90 Degree Lightening Adapter/Cable was necessary to Plug it in without putting TENSION on IPADs PLUG-IN. All in All good Experience, decent item. Looks Nice..

what more could you ask? note it won't work well if you don't have power in the wall behind it - because getting the ipad in and out of it to charge it is really hard. But if you have power to your spot - this is the perfect solution. great price, looks good, is truly a flush mount system. I had the previous version for a slightly different size older ipad and was happy with that one as well until the ipad finally aged out. this one is slightly smaller to match the newer ipads so had to sand and repaint around the old opening to install this one, but you can't even tell now.

See pics. I’m using for a monitor for my security cameras. A lot of others charge $200+ for an in wall mount which is nuts so I did my research and found this one. It’s very nice thick plastic and quality. They also have good customer service. Worked well.I got a cable that is angled and fatter at the head but it didn’t work and broke when I pushed the iPad in. You need a thin basic charging cable to work with this mount. I got the amazon basic cable and it worked better.

This is a great inexpensive wall mount for the iPad, one problem. In the latest version of this they have changed the overall size. Why would that matter? I'll tell you.I ordered their first iteration of this and I was very happy with it. Now, as time goes on and ipads wear out you want to change your older iPad that you have installed in your wall with a newer one. No problem right? WRONG.The company has changed the overall size of the mount. Meaning...the whole in the wall is now too big. What am I supposed to do, patch it and then try to cut a smaller whole in the wall?No one at this company had the forethought to leave the EXTERNAL dimensions the same as the first model they produced, thats all they needed to do. I realize that the iPad itself has changed dimensions, but all they needed to do was change the inner portion of the mount (the part that holds the iPad) and leave the exterior bezel the same width and length. Yes, that would have made the bezel look a bit larger, but your customers that already owned the first edition of this product wouldnt be left with a hole they cannot cover.If you have previously purchased this item you cannot upgrade the iPad, ever. You will either have to patch the hole and try to cut a new smaller whole in its place, or start buying older iPads that will fir this mount.If the people that are selling this read this review you should redesign your mold so that no matter what size the iPad changes to the original dimensions of your product to not get any smaller. Once you cut a whole in the wall you can't make it smaller, larger maybe, but not smaller. Please redesign your mold to accommodate previous customers who have purchased your product.

Perfect for the iPad 6th generation. Looks great and an excellent price compared to other “in-wall” mounts. Only had a slight issue with removing the ipad once it was mounted. Purchased a suction cup which helped with the removal.
