Bad game design, hilariously bad AI.

Wow. this was a stinker. The game works like this: Each player gets a clue to draw. then all the players vote if they think the AI will be able to guess it or not. The AI is generally very bad, and it's always easy to get it to guess wrong, but what happens is - most people end up voting on the same "good" and "bad" artist over and over.we had a few good laughs at how incredibly bad the AI was in most situations, but the game was not worth it. There wasn't really any kind of Pictionary spin on it, either. This game offers nothing unique from something a student could toss together with google's AI software - which wouldn't require special boards or an obnoxious amount of time lining up the picture with the camera.(note to Pictionary: I know what you think you're doing with these QR codes on the boards but, c'mon. is it really worth it? the validation checks are probably as expensive as the lifetime total number of users if you were a lot more forgiving with your dataset. the resulting low quality image from using the wide lens means for a lot more false negatives. I understand your desire to gatekeeper and protect costs but you threw value and experience out the window.)Also the markers are NOT dry erase for some reason which is just...eeew. "here everyone have two napkins to play with. A soiled wet one and a soiled dry one. isn't this fun?"OG Pictionary is a delight because it lets people of all skills feel like they can participate and contribute - both as a guesser and drawer. This game's attempt to grab zeitgeist and brand-ify it before anyone else did is unfortunately myopic and rushed. There's no game here: no competition against the machine. no joy in winning (since 1/2 your points come from betting someone's drawing is bad) humiliation from the ineptitude of the worst image model I've seen in a couple of years (which is insane considering it's clearly working from knowledge of what the cards are so it's not even trying to guess from all data in the world) and an especially lazy game board and piece design. The good news is, I suppose, that if Pictionary didn't want to do it right there is still space for this game to exist from anyone else. I hope if you are reading this and think "I could do that!" I hope you do, and I hope I discover it to play with my family some Christmas down the line.

Fun game, highly recommended.

Fun game! Make sure the phone is charged so you do t have issues. Bigger phone screen helps. Fun with teens and adults, kids also do just as well drawing. We wish you could expand and have 5+ play!

We love it!

However, we are very easy to please. So for the hard core gamers who are looking for a drawing challenge, look elsewhere. For kids and their willing parents to actually play with said kids, this game is it. The AI is terrible and the kids will get a hoot out of that. The parents will enjoy being superior artists over their children, and enjoy having them try to guess their masterpieces. Oh yeah, let the adults control the smart phone. It takes a steady hand to capture each drawing. Let the kids move the pieces and clean the boards. One last note! I have two phones- one iPhone Xs, and one iPhone 13. Both phones MASSIVELY OVERHEAT while operating the AI website. I can’t figure out how to utilize the website and make sure my phone doesn’t explode in the meantime. So that leaves for shorter gameplay. I’d actually love to keep playing with my kids, but I need my phone. So beware of that. I haven’t seen one review about thay, and I wonder is it just my phone(s)???

Yikes! This is beta at best

The AI recognition software is kind of a joke. It wasn't even close most of the time as you can see by the photo. The clue for that was "spoon" - it looks like a spoon. For some unfathomable reason Pictionary AI decided it was definitely a wombat. A WOMBAT. Yeah, no. Since what you're actually trying to guess is whether or not the AI would get it right or wrong we learned quickly that it would get it wrong 90% of the time.I drew a circle with a mouth and eyes in it for my clue "smiley face". AI guessed "brain". Yeah, no.Additionally the interaction with the app was infuriating as after every play you had to restart it. Didn't matter if it was on an iPhone or an Android - restart every time.Mattel - did you even do UE or UAT on this product???? Didn't think so.
