Magnesium Chloride can be used to replenish magnesium levels in marine aquaria. Diluted in fresh water and added slowly to an area of high flow, 5 grams of Magnesium Chloride hexahydrate per 100L of aquarium water will raise magnesium levels by around 6ppm. Suitable for use as part of the 'Balling Method' for reef aquarium supplementation developed by Hans-Wermer Balling in Germany.
