Perfect for my waterbed
This was exactly what I've been looking for! I have a waterbed and had an old waterbed mattress cover I'd had for probably at least 20 years. This was one of those that was just a flat pad with elastic straps at the corners. Over the years it had "stretched" in all the wrong directions. It no longer actually covered the whole mattress top. It didn't go all they way across side-to-side but exceeded in length, and the elastic was stretched badly. I will admit it held up well for its age. I wanted a quilted type that would not only cover the whole top but attach like a fitted sheet. I'd discovered a few years back that normal bed sheets for deep mattresses would not only work instead of waterbed sheets but actually fit and stay on BETTER than waterbed sheets. The sides of this cover are a stretchy knit and fit with room to spare. I got the California King and it fits the top of the mattress perfectly. It's a very comfortable pad. Keeps me from feeling the plastic mattress underneath which is the primary purpose for which I use a pad. It does not add any support so if you're looking for something that does add support, keep looking. It is not overly warm. In fact, I turn the heater on the bed down to around 80° for the summer so the water will help keep me cool by taking heat away, and this does not interfere with that process at all. Right where I lay will eventually feel warmer than the surrounding area, but I can move across other areas of the bed and feel the coolness from the water. I put this on my bed without running it through the washer first so I can't attest to how well it holds up after washing, but the quilted cover itself is woven fabric (polyester/cotton blend I believe), and I expect it will probably do well. I intend to wash it in cold water and on the delicate cycle just in case, and will dry it on low and toss in the tennis ball I use when I dry my comforter to help prevent the filling from bunching. Also, the packaging clearly states on it "Made in USA" so that's just a little perk, knowing I'm supporting American workers with this purchase. At least as a waterbed mattress cover, I would highly recommend this!

LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT!!!!!!!
If I weren't already married, I would marry this mattress pad. To begin with, I have a California Queen hardside waterbed (60"x84"), and I always have trouble finding linens and things for it. Everything is 60"x80", which is too short. So just to confirm, this mattress pad fits a 60"x84" hardside waterbed. The top of the pad is quilted. I'm sure there are other mattress pads out there that are thicker or thinner, but I was happy with the thickness of this one. I've been using 3 thinner mattress pads on my waterbed because I didn't want to feel like I was sleeping on the vinyl waterbed mattress. But since I got this one, it's the only mattress pad I have on the bed now. I had to turn the heat up on the bed a little bit, but that's ok because it's nice to only need one mattress pad on the bed and not feel the vinyl of the mattress. All 4 sides have a stretchy pantyhose type material, and I think that's what makes this mattress pad the most awesome. It takes a little extra tucking, but it's worth it. The pads with anchor bands can leave mattress exposed on the sides, but this one doesn't. And so far, even with 2 people rolling around in the waterbed, it hasn't had a corner pop out or come untucked. It's washed well so far too. Although I haven't had any problems, I try to be a little extra careful with the stretchy side material. I know what happens when pantyhose get a run in them, and even though this material is thicker than your average pair of pantyhose, I still try to be careful so I don't snag it on anything. So to sum up, I will be buying another one of these just to make sure I have a spare!!

I am currently washing the bedding from my waterbed, and I noticed that my mattress pad has a couple of spots coming apart from use. So, time to get a new one. I remembered buying this one from Amazon, so I went to my orders and looked it up. I was shocked to find that we have been using this mattress pad for 8 years!I was very happy to find it still available as it has been the best waterbed mattress pad I've ever purchased in the 30+ years of owning a waterbed. It fits perfectly, has plenty of pocket depth to tuck in where it stays tucked, has held its shape, and hasn't shown a sign of needing replaced until today. Oh, and this is the only pad we've used in the last 8 years, so it's had nightly use and frequently washing. It's just the right thickness to protect the mattress and provide comfort without adding bulkiness, so it's very comfortable. At first I was dismayed that it's gone up about $20 in price until I realized that it's been 8 years. Add to that the fact that it's worth the cost, and I have no problems ordering this product again. If you're debating, go ahead! It's worth it!

This is a nice thick mattress pad
This is a nice thick mattress pad, much better than my old thin sheet style mattress pad. The netting used for the pockets is nice and stretchy, and fairly deep, to fit on the corners of my queen size mattress. The pad itself is about a quarter to a half inch thick, which feels rather nice and as an added benefit, protects the mattress from my cat's claws when she is kneading her paws on it. :)To me the only drawback is (Not removing a star for it): Most sheets and mattress pads are a flat pad/sheet with a 'pocket' at each corner. This mattress pad has a 'skirt' that looks more like a sheet for a normal mattress. Which means you have to tuck every side of the mattress pad in to make it fit properly on the waterbed, doesn't sound bad until you have to pull up the side of the water balloon every foot or so to tuck the whole thing in. I still like this pad, but this would be the only thing I don't like about it. It is still a nice fluffy, solid, mattress pad.
