These ceiling fan Caps are working just fine. The colored wires are not in the same location as the original. However, they are correctly connected to the capacitor inside the box. Wire them color to color and they will be correct. The wires look like 16 gauge, so get some very small wire nuts (5 for each capacitor). Cut & strip the fan wires (from the old capacitor) to the same length as the cap wires. Twist each wire so it is tight, then twist each matched pair together and twist the wire cap on. Pull each wire separately (slightly) from the wire nut to make sure they don't pull out.Turn the power back on & it should work. Remember, you are working with 115 volts and it will bite you if the power is on.

Dis Woiks!
I was faced with the same dilemma as some of the other reviewers in that I thought I would have to buy another ceiling fan and then face the daunting task of getting someone else to install it or brave possible electrocution by attempting to install it myself. But something had to be done. The fan was spinning so slowly the flies were using it as an amusement park ride. Since I had not the slightest intimation of a desire to cough up the bread for a new fan, I bought this capacitor as a final act of desperation. And voila she woiks. Easy to install. Fan spins like mad, I'm a happy camper, Ford's in his flivver all's right with the world.

Fixed the problem!
I purchased this to fix a relatively new ceiling fan. It has worked longer now than the original. Can't complain about that!

Wish I'd Known About This Before...
This was interesting. My ceiling fan went from 3 speeds to one speed. The "expert" at the big box store said I needed a new 3-way switch. That did nothing. The "expert" said the motor was shot. However, I found a do-it-yourself video online that said fan motors last a really long time, and the problem is usually the capacitor. The hardest part was finding one that would match my fan. When I removed the old capacitor, I saw a bulge in the casing. Ah-ha. The new capacitor got the fan working perfectly. Now I'm really upset because I bet some of the fans I replaced in my lifetime probably just needed a new capacitor. (The big box store didn't even carry capacitors -- the "expert" said they almost never go bad.)

An Almost Direct Replacement Part
This three capacitor unit was an almost exact replacement item. Two of the sections were a half microfarad off, which is close enough. I ordered it for a Harbor Breeze fan believing it to be the problem why the fan motor would no turn. I also changed the fan speed switch. It turned out that the motor was indeed bad and the only real action to take was to buy a new fan. The side of this capacitor is marked as to number of mfds in each section and the associated wire color. Even if your name is Forest Gump, you should be able to figure it out. Be electrically safe

DOA - defective
The unit came with two of the three capacitors shorted, D.O.A.(dead on arrival) defective and not same color code for wires.

Gets the job done
Hunter fan was stuck in slow speed. Ordered this based on specifications of old capacitor. I now have (almost too) good high speed and low speed but no medium speed which is what we usually like the fan set at for sleeping.

Great!
My fan's capacitor was blown and would work on the lowest speed. I ordered this one to replace my c61. The wires colors on this one don't match the wire colors on the old one. But, I just made sure I matched up the right wires. The 2 orange wires on the new one matched the 2 gray on the old, etc. it was simple to do using wire outputs on the front of the capacitors. This fixed my fan in about 15 minutes! Love it!
