This workbook really makes a difference!
I used this workbook for my first son when he was in first grade, and I am about to reorder for my second son. The book teaches great printing skills, with plenty of practice using the letters and numbers on their own as well as in words and sentences. Some self driven kids may be able to complete the pages alone, but I sat with my son while he did it, to make sure he was building correct handwriting habits.

Handwriting Without Tears lives up to its name :)
"Handwriting Without Tears" is SO wonderful. This book categorizes the letters according to shape/form and easy methods that stick in your child's memory. Instead of teaching alphabetically, the lessons are arranged in motor-skill oriented sections with simple active pictoral instructions to help with visual recall. You can do lessons in order or move in different sections. My child had many tearful handwriting lessons before this totally magical workbook. I absolutely recommend this book!

Perfect for an emerging writer
I got this for my daughter who's in first grade. I think it's a little too easy for a first grader and is better spent on a kindergarter. The book mostly focuses on writing habits. Those should be more instilled when they're just learning to write in my opinion. Starting them off with good writing habits is better than trying to begin them a year later.

Does the job
My son's Occupational Therapist requested we get this to help my son with his writing. Does the job and hasn't changed much since we last used these books.

Its fine
Bought for my oldest son. I'm not used to this style of writing so it could be me but there isn't much practice between each group of letters but I don't know. It seems alright I guess

Wonderful Workbook
My 1st grader loves this workbook and I feel it’s really helping him. It has easy to follow directions for him on how to properly form each letter, number and even punctuations. We have unsuccessfully tried other books and this is the first one my son got excited about actually completed.

Great for supplemental learning
Love this book for my first grader. It’s great to review writing her alphabet and practice new words. Distance learning makes a lot of time computer learning and I love that I can incorporate this into our day so she can pick up her pencil and write!!!
