Easy to fit and connect
I replaced an existing thermostatic radiator valve with this using one of the adaptors supplied, just screw off the old one and screw on this one, didn't need any tools. Easy to link with my Smartthings hub. It has buttons to adjust the temp up and down so for example guests in a bedroom can adjust the temp to suit themselves.

... give this 5 stars as the install wasn't as easy as it should - instructions aren't clear
I can't give this 5 stars as the install wasn't as easy as it should - instructions aren't clear. Otherwise have this working with a Samsung Smartthings hub. You will need a community device handler, though it will install with standard Zwave DH, the standard handler doesn't reply with a wake time so eventually the TRV will drop off the network. What i like about this one is that it reports back the room temperature and also it's setpoint allowing you to compare differences etc in handler / apps.

Best smart radiator thermostat
Have tried a couple of smart radiator thermostats and this has been my favourite so far. I found it very easy to install and pair with a z wave hub (Smartthings in my case). I track the temprature with another temperature measumrent IOT device and this repsonds well to what that and ither IOT devices are reporting. It's also very quiet compared to some other ETRVs I've tried

This Z-wave product does not work with the Genius Hub
Z-wave products are sold as mutually compatible. This Z-wave stat was bought to work with the Genius z-wave Hub and appears to be identical with the Genius Radiator thermostat. However it is identified by the Hub but will not or cannot communicate with the Hub. Genius will not assist as they regard it as third party equipment. The stat manufacturers state that they have no experience with the Genius Hub and cannot help. This item should not be sold without a list of compatible equipment.

reliable and two way communication every 30mins
running with an older vera system using z-wave. So far so god (2 months in) battery just under 90% with the "average quality" batteries supplied. Gives feedback to the host on its poll-interval. (30mins by default) Even though the host-controller displays a set-point and current temperature this is only a reflection of the last updated value or the value to be set on the next wake-up transmission. Adjust the device locally and it exchanges data in real-time.Works nicely to set a daytime temperature and an evening temperature, updating twice per dayUPDATE: 6 months in and no problems so far. Original batteries report at 74%

Inconsistent wakeup intervals and battery life questionable
Tried this out with my VeraPlus controller. Enrolled fine and seemed to control room temperature ok. However, set point changes take too long to get to the controller. A short wakeup interval (every 10 mins say) starts to drain the battery over a couple of weeks. A longer wakeup interval makes the response too sluggish Furthermore, the device did not adhere to the wakeup settings consistently and seemed to double it in some instances. The worst issue was that Vera representation showed the ability to turn it off.."HEAT ON' and 'OFF' were offered. But 'OFF' didn't really turn it off!! POPP tech support were not much help. They insisted that the Vera representation of having ON/OFF was fictictious and device DOES NOT have any ON/OFF (Binary) behaviour and the only way to turn it OFF (for an unused room say) was to dial down the set point to its minimum of 4 degrees. Quite tedious especially with long wakeup periods! I observed that the device DID partially go off when 'OFF' was set on Vera but the whole thing was inconsistent. POPP tech support didn't seem to like me questioning their information or knowledge of the device behaviour and I received a 'curt' reply. Have sent back all 5 devices that I bought (2 from Amazon and 3 from Intellihome) and will now go with the Stella Z-wave Plus by Eurotronic because its a 'FLi`rs' device so more sensible control.

They do what they're supposed to do, unlike others I've tried.
I've been using Eurotronics Stella-Z valves for many years and have been wrestling with them since they went in. While they have some nice features, notably the ability to read the valve open percentage, their annoying habit of neglecting to send updates or answering poll requests means they frequently just stop giving information. This apparently still happens in the newer Eurotronics devices too but I haven't tried those.I'm slowly replacing them all with the more expensive, less capable but more reliable Popp valves. These differ from the identical-looking Danfoss valves by sending back temperature reports (they send setpoint, temperature and battery reports on every wake-up) without needing polling. I use the temperatures to decide whether the boiler can be turned off completely or needs to be left running by comparing them with the setpoints and turning off the boiler if all temperature sensors are reporting 1 degree above their setpoints, which works well.So far their reliability and battery consumption has been far better than the Stella-Z valves and I can also set temperatures manually.

Really nice kit, but check you may need some adapters to fit on your radiator. These adapter are circa £10

Works perfect, the design is a matter of taste.

Bonne vanne thermostatique.

Tutto funziona a meraviglia.
