I used it to fill gaps on planking hull and odd spots around the deck. Very easy to work with and can be sanded and painted when dry. **Q: Will it dissolve if stained with a water based solution?** A: Interesting question.I tested a small hardened sample using Tamiya water based acrylic paint and using Humbrol Acrylic. No reaction. the product did not dissolve, nor did I see any significant surface reaction. **Q: What is the shelf life once opened** A: Seems to last a long time.
