excellent alarm. Very sturdy and reactive
Does exactly what it says, excellent alarm. Very sturdy and reactive, will sound the alarm just by pulling at the cable and it is pretty loud.Remember follow the manufacturers instructions and use a quality battery like d*racell, if you don't the alarm will not function properly and it just makes clicking noises.

I lost three fingers trying to remove the rear cover to install the battery so excuse any bad typing that might follow
An absolute rubbish item!! I lost three fingers trying to remove the rear cover to install the battery so excuse any bad typing that might follow. The cable would not lock, apart from that it is great!!!. Far less stressful to hand over your valuable items to the burglars or just leave them in the road for free collection. To add insult I only unpacked the item today but was told I am now past the refund date when I purchased it under two months ago. How is that for customer protection?

Useful, but awkward to lock.
Hired a car when travelling abroad and used this to tether the luggage in the car when we went wandering. Felt safer, although I'm not aware any attempt was made to nick the stuff. Only negative was that it was difficult to get the key to engage the lock and complete the circuit - stiff fit.

Pretty good security for bikes and disabled buggys
After having a bike stolen out of a friends garden I searched for the best kind of bike security I could find. This accompanying a gold secure lock is about the best you can get. It is better than the lock alarms triggered by movement as they can go off on a windy day or when a large vehicle goes by. This will trigger a very loud alarm if the cable is cut or if any attempt to force it is made. You can also thread bike helmets through it and leave them on the bike rather that lugging them around. No bike security is foolproof unless you lock it in a steel shed, not so easy when you are away from home but this was the best I could find. A loud alarm is likely to deter thieves and the alarm flashes a light and clearly states 120 db alarm.

Not For Me!
Not as good as I thought it would be, never use it now

Seems sturdy but lock is awful to use.
Instruction leaflet is poor. Diagram fails to indicate where cable fits into device. Had to go online. Red plastic cable-sretaining bracket comes off easily. Once cable is locked in the unit, it's very hard to turn the key in the lock and it took me several minutes to extricate the cable, having tripped the alarm many times and cut my knuckles.Let's hope a thief has even less patience than me.

basic but well built
Survived torrential rain, sand and dust. On a bike traveling around the world, it's used to loop the QR wheels when the bike is out of sight. Lock can be temperamental but nothing a little wiggle can't solve.

Disappointed.
I bought this in January to lock the kids new bikes together in the shed. However I'm unable to lock it without the alarm going off. The instructions did say that when new this will happen but by with wear I. E. A couple of goes it should work fine. I'm very disappointed as I had one of these about 15yrs ago and it was brilliant. The only reason I bought a new one was because the battery leaked in the old one and I binned it.
