Wonderful Whirlygig for my balcony! This is an A+ purchase. It was a whim on my part to buy it as something my indoor-only cats could look at out the window, since I live in a 2nd story condo and there don't seem to be many birds or things to look at around here. It's pretty reactive to a breeze, unlike what some of the other reviews said. It spins readily and freely. Couldn't figure out how to put the washers on it, though, and it doesn't seem to make a difference, and maybe helps it to whirl more freely. Pretty little thing, and a good size, well made, as well. I heartily recommend it.Later post: Only one draw back I've just discovered. Hummingbirds are attracted to it, because I bought a red one, and they pick at it with their little beaks, wanting nectar, so if you buy whirligig, get a different bird/color. I put up a hummingbird feeder close by it, but they still also pick at the cardinal\, overlooking the feeder, so I had to take the cardinal down, as much as I loved it.

It looks great when swirling, For some reason, one wing doesn't go until the wind fires up a little more. Maybe this is simply because the other wing is blocking milder wind, I don't have another WhirlyGig to compare it to. My only criticism is the plastic part that connects the wings to the body is bright white. It should be the same color red. Looks like they did it to save money by standardizing. But, black would have been a much better color than white, the white really pops out.I have now purchased a number of the WhirlyGigs from this company, and the one wing on all of them is slower than the other. It must be the difference in the wind strength after blowing the forward wing around. I still say the white plastic connector is just annoying, black would be so much better. After two summers the paint on the top of my Cardinal has started to crack and fade. So I bought some UV protector clear coat spray paint from ACE and sprayed them all. So far it seems to have helped. I don't know what the life of the paint should be, but I hope I've at least slowed the aging. I've also started taking them in for all of the winter, it would be nice to have them out, but maybe it's too much for them.

Purchase a Cardinal and a Bluejay....Overall nice...My old wooden Gigs the axel was only one inch from the body..these are two inches and they are White..Seems like the axel should be the same color as the bird...used a pemanent marker colored over the white...replaced the plastic stick with a wooden one...they fly OK...

Bright color and spins well. Smaller than thought and short pole, but love the Cardinal.

My second whirlygig from this company and so far they seem solid, well made and durable. I like five minutes from the Pacific and I get fog, wind and moisture all year long, so these little guys had best stand up to the elements. Easy to assemble, colorful and work with no problems. I will get one more next time.

Left wing did not rotate smoothly at first, but it gradually came to full function. Works great now and and we enjoy the bright color.

These things are hideous!!! Not anything as pictured. The wings stick out from the body 3” on each side on ugly white plastic extenders. Very disappointed!!

Fades in direct sun. I bought this two years ago and now the body is white and the wings are still red.

My husband picked this whirligig out with a gift card he received from our youngest daughter for Father's Day. It is wonderful! It works fine and was very easy to put together. We're very happy with this item.

we love this little guy, we've had numerous cheap ones made from material so he's doing great, I will bring him on during winter though.

The cardinal is pretty, but the paint on one side of its head and on the wing, on the same side, was partially smudged. That takes away some of the loveliness of this otherwise attractive bird.

It's a very colorful, bright red and looks pretty in our back yard. I'm thinking about buying another one.

I love a touch of whimsy and this is it. It cracks me up every time I see its' wings whirling around. It's sturdy and hasn't shown any sign of fading. It's easy to assemble and install.

I have a fondness for cardinals, and not because of any sports team! This is much bigger than I expected but I still love it. Great quality, I would recommend this for sure.
