I don't think this will fit in my old school top loader.I wanted a new down comforter for my new mattress to replace my old down comforter. My mom has had down alternative comforters which I thought were pretty nice. This is actually a nice comforter but I almost returned it because it is not fluffy like down. When you press on it, it is firm like a comforter. Cushy, but firm. However since its $10 to return I will keep it until I get used to it or can get a down comforter on sale, since this is certainly worth $50-60! I do like that this queen size comforter fills out my duvet cover fully and hangs over the sides of the bed. It is almost too big for my duvet cover but fits snugly and makes the bed look very streamline. My old down comforter is fluffier but also provides for a lumper appearance and did not cover sides, so this looks better. This comforter is super warm and nice heavier weight which I like. If you are allergic to down or an alternative is important to you, then it is a nice choice for you. If you love the feel of down I would suggest looking at the difference in store first. I wish I had compared the difference between the feel of down and down alternatives first. Overall good product, just didn't quite meet my expectations as far as feel/fluffiness. I have had it less than a week so perhaps it will fluff up a bit over time? Either way, I am more for it than against it and think it is a great purchase for the price and it will do what is designed to do which is keep me warm.UPDATE 9/25/13: I upped this product 1 star because even though it isn't as "down like" as I expected, I am really loving it! It's super warm and lays so nicely on my bed (queen size). Very pleased that I decided to keep it.

I bought the queen duvet and it's a true queen size. When I draped it over the mattress, it fully covered the fitted sheet, and just managed to touch the skirt. It is one of the bigger sized queen duvets that I researched, and, as far as looks go, it is completely fine with me. I have a regular mattress. If I had a pillowtop (or a thick mattress where a standard fitted sheet pops off) or if I was concerned about having a little more fabric covering the sides and over the skirt, I might consider a king, but that would swallow the bed.Out of the box, the duvet looked smashed, of course, but it was not wrinkled. I bought it directly from Amazon. It smoothed out just fine. As I was arranging it on the bed to make sure the size was acceptable, it did slowly puff up and looked so good just as it was in the crisp white. My dog is the deciding factor that would make me opt for a duvet cover. I did choose to use a cover to go over it. Nothing white survives in my house.I am satisfied with the filling and it's exceptionally warm, even hot to sleep under but I did specifically choose a non-down filled one with the heavier fill rating. Once in awhile I need to kick out an arm and leg to cool down. I am a total whining wuss baby that is known to sleep in socks in the winter and I chanced getting rid of a sheet, 2 blankets and a comforter for this duvet and this thing will be just fine. I was tired to death of having to rearrange 4 blankets to make the bed that got all twisted up every morning. I started searching for a duvet when I stayed at a hotel that had only a duvet and sheet. I saw that and thought I was going to freeze to death until I tried it. I was sold!I bought the Pinzon flannel velvet duvet cover and I also got the sheet & fitted sheet set in the velvet flannel material. Does not look or feel like regular flannel sheet sets. It's like sleeping in a soft.. I don't know .. cloud of warm Zen soft comfort. The flannel probably adds to the heat factor. You really feel the weight of the duvet on your body. I don't know if it's the flannel cover or what, but this duvet does not move or bunch up inside the cover.This will be way too warm/hot for spring and summer and I will be sad to put it away for 2 seasons because of the looks and comfort. I love this thing.

This is my first duvet insert and is being used to determine if I want a down one in the future. I specifically wanted a "winter" one that could handle western NY winters.As stated in the description the size is King-XL. I was hoping that the dimensions were a lie and that the fill would cause the edge to come in enough to fit my cover.The XL is generous of them, but this means it lumps up because a standard cover is too small. Much like hotdogs generously coming in packages of 10, while buns come in packages of 8.The "fill" is the same as my standard comforters, it isn't at all like down (it does not and cannot shift).The boxes are stitch-through, not baffle-box construction (not that it matters, as the fill is not like down)The insert is heavy, but lighter than the two comforters it replaced. It still provides at least as much warmthThe corners have ties to attach to a duvet cover (sadly, my cover does not reciprocate this feature.)If the manufacturer had one fewer row and column for this duvet insert, it would fit almost perfectly and get that last star from me.In summary, I think this is a fine duvet insert that does its job for a lot less money than real down. While I would probably not buy this again due to the dimensions, I still recommend it to people with the correct duvet cover or no need for a cover at all.

It’s heavy and quite hard in places. I’ll stick with my feather duvet. It’s also a weird size for a full. I don’t like it and won’t recommend.

Warm and fluffy. Definitely large enough for our king-sized bed. Even though it says it is machine washable though, I don't think it will fit in our household washing machine.

Arrived promptly and intact, great product.

You can't find anything better for this price, is light weight, keeps me warm in Canada cold winter, good deal !!!

This duvet is what I was looking for. Came as described and is very warm and not too heavy!
