What is the amount of iron in each pill?? Is it 45 mg? My doctor prescribes an amount I'm to take each day, so the content is important!

you need to be careful there are articles about the confusion surrounding labeling of Iron - There are 45mg of elemental iron in this, but 142mg of ferrous sulfate. So, ask doctor whether his suggestion is about how much elemental iron to take or how much ferrous sulfate. Story of daughter that overdosed parent with four a day because doctor recommended 300mg per day and doctor meant of ferrous sulfate.

The description says "no artificial colors added", but the ingredient list includes "artificial colors". What's the deal?

I am not sure, but they do look like previous iron tablets I have used. They are a brownish color like all the slow release ones seem to be.

How is this packaged? I would much prefer the iron pills that come in a bottle instead of those that are in blister packs.
