I had cup if coffee in peace! Ok. So here goes. My neighbor has a yapping yorki it will bark non stop. After turning this to low the yapper allows me to use my yard and patio. Dont get me wrong. I love small dogs. Have a couple our self. I had to dock it 2 stars simply because it works a little to well. I have 1 dog that refuses to come out of the bedroom now and absolutely will not go outside. She is a large golden lab beyond stressed so i have to keep it off more than on. Reason for 2nd loss of star i can hear a low ringing in my ears. So far 2 out of 5 of us can hear it. Other than that it's like goldie locks and 3 bear scenario, it depends on some breeds. My kids seem to think they have to bring all there dogs to me while they work. List and results as follows.Neighbors uncontrolled yapping-works unless 5 feet from the fence. My large golden lab- bit to strong. Stresses her out. The panting and fear etc:,..My chiweenie-works perfectly, just right. My large chocolate lab-perfect and he sticks to his low grumbling when has something to say about all this.Daughters apple head Chihuahua- works great on unless he gets out of the 50 foot range.Daughters 5 month old golden lab has gone from picking up bad habbit of barking to being under control.Daughters boxer- absolutely not! At this point nothing will work on her.Humans-undetermined. 2/5 of us do hear it. Its a constant low pitch pretty annoying. My home is a small cottage and it sits practicly in neighbors back yard. So you can imagine being stuck with neighbors yorki so close to the house and patio. Mine is 10-15 feet away from my house but easily reaches into my home. I would not recomnend to use it inside. It is pretty powerful. You can find indoor ones if needed.

Works too well- dogs now fear outside
This thing must work a little too well. My dogs (two different personalities mind you) refuse to go outside right now. One of my dogs has held his poo for two days now. I’ve tried to turn off the device and lead him outside and that’s the only way I could get him to go potty. Perhaps some better tips on how to use this without ruining the owner/dog outside relationship? I read the instructions and it did mention that it could put a strain on the relationship but I didn’t think to the point where they are refusing to go outside. Usually these two are fearless. Please note I didn’t even use the highest setting. :-(

Seems to work even with stubborn dogs
My story.. I have 2 small/medium Terriers that bark at the sound of an ant farting. My poor neighbor has been so patient with me over the past couple years and I've done my best to keep the dogs quiet, but they just bark for the sake of barking. Not wanting to get in trouble for their barking, I've tried many different "solutions". Finally I thought I'd try this. I was skeptical that a $40 device would do anything, but I gave it a shot. When it came in, I put the battery in, tested it as stated in the manual, and hung it about 4 feet off of the ground next to my backyard gate. The first day, not much happened. They would bark, it would sound. They'd look at each other and the gate, then start barking again. Next day, about the same, then they started to really notice it. It probably took a full week, but they just don't bark like they did. They'll still alert bark if someone is at the gate or come into the yard, but other than that, it's been much quieter here. My neighbor even noticed it was quieter and asked me about it.I live in Phoenix, so I may amend my review this summer if it melts or catches fire. My gate is on the N side of the house, so hopefully it will be okay.I docked ONE STAR for having to deal with a battery. It seems to last about 2 weeks if left on. It would be really if they had a better power solution for it, but I can deal with a couple battery swaps each month in exchange for no barking. An A/C power supply is not an option where it is installed. :(

DOES NOT WORK
The barking device seems to work on test mode for a brief moment then stops. Then I put it on the highest level and my dogs have barked but it still has not detected any of the barking and they are within 15 feet. I am very disappointed. The light blinks as if it would be on and detecting, but I think the battery only powers the blinking light. Really disappointed.*my dogs are not deaf or hearing impaired**has brand new 9V batteries*

Overtime however the larger dogs have pretty much stp barking but the smaller dog has already ...
When I first hung this dog bark controller it appeared to work on my neighbors five dogs. Overtime however the larger dogs have pretty much stp barking but the smaller dog has already started back barking continuously.

Fyi a battery only last 2 weeks at best so make sure u stock up if u try ...
Have only had it less than 3 months and it has stopped working. Neighbors dogs now back to barking. It is not the battery as the issue..the unit just doesn't work anymore. Fyi a battery only last 2 weeks at best so make sure u stock up if u try this...but very disappointed in the quality from a long-term perspective.

Actually worked for me as long as the dogs are contained within close proximity to the controller
I'll be honest. I've always thought these ultrasonic bark deterrents were a joke and I really didn't expect this to work. But my two large dogs have recently taken to barking at nothing at night and my husband has to get up at 5 AM. He put his foot down that something had to be done. I tried everything from extra strenuous exercise right before bedtime to changing their feeding schedule to locking them in the kennel where they couldn't see anything but they still barked, usually waking us up around 2-3 AM. I finally decided to give this bark controller a try and was shocked on the first night that, on the lowest setting, there was no barking. I figured it was a fluke but over the course of the week I had to admit that it actually worked. Now this is with them closed in their kennel runs without access to the outside. On a few days I have forgotten to turn it off in the morning and they still bark outside (which I don't mind during the day) even with the kennel doors open and the controller within about 15 feet. But for my purposes it has worked wonders and, even though there have been a few nights when I have forgotten to turn it back on, they have not barked at night in months.
