Defense Technologies First Defense OC Stream MK-4 1.3% Solution Red Band Pepper Spray (3.0-Ounce)

One heck of a deal for excellent quality pepper spray. I added this to my bugout bag as well as a collapsible baton to have a nonlethal means of dealing with creature two and four legged alike. Can see it having any us in a vehicle to deal with rabid type dogs, coyotes, even black bears that are common in my area. I added a condor oc pouch that is of exceeltn quality and works perfect with this spray. The size is a good size, holds well in the hand, has a safety to prevent accidental discharge. Too big for poxket carry but with a pouch would work well on a belt.

If you are looking for something to keep dogs out of your yard this is the item for you. The stream is not as tight as what I used as an officer, and it is not as hot, but it is more than enough to make a dog leave your yard. Do not spray in the eyes at under three feet, because it can damage the eye. A spray below the nose at 10 feet is more than effective. If you are buying this to use for self defense, you should know that pepper spray does not work on some people, and it will blow back towards you with the slightest breeze. So wear glasses and keep your mouth closed when you spray.

First off this stuff hurts like heck so be careful. It’s a great way to de-escalate a situation and stay hands off with an aggressor. Especially if the aggressor has been oc’d before.

I work as an armed security guard. In the state I live in, you must get certified to carry OC spray. Part of the training is actually getting sprayed with this stuff. It's no joke! Completely incapacitated me after 2 seconds. Took me about 1 hour to fully recover. Take it from someone who's actually been sprayed by this exact brand.....it will hurt! Side note: be sure to know the laws in the state where you live. Some states require that you "open carry" oc spray. Other states you can conceal it in a purse or pocket. Please know the laws.

This item tends to drip or leak after its first deployment. I was getting dressed before work one morning and making minor adjustments to my duty belt as I usually do. About a hour later while on duty I rubbed my left eye not knowing that a small amount of OC had dripped down the front of the bottle and ended up making contact with my hand sometime that morning. Fortunately I was not driving at the time as this could have resulted in something a lot worse than burning eyes. I recommend everyone that carries OC rub the top off after you use it for the first time. That is the only flaw I’ve noticed in this product in the 4 years I’ve been using it.

I haven't needed to actually use it yet, but it fits well in my pants pockets & Is easier to find & retrieve than smaller ones I have to fish around for. I've read that under stress or duress a person loses their fine motor skills, so I believe that having this right there at my fingertips when I reach in my pocket will also help in that regard. With this type of discharge mechanism I can easily feel where to put my thumb to press the button without looking, & don't have to make any adjustments to know that where my thumb is pointing is where the spray is going to go. If I use my thumb to activate it I can still punch with that hand. Another thing that makes that makes me more secure about this item is that with 3.5 oz. of pepper spray in the canister there's little chance that I'll run out when I need it.

This stuff works! Used it to take care of a mean dog in the neighborhood - he doesn't come near my yard anymore! Does have red dye in it, so be careful where you're spraying it and don't be downwind - when I caught a wind-blown bit of it, I was coughing and seriously regretting that for hours! Strong stuff and well worth the money!

I use this against the aggressive dogs everyone in Colorado leaves of leash. Very effective non-lethal solution, instantly makes dogs regret running up on you hackles raised. Get them in the face!
