My favourite translucent clay
My preferred translucent clay. Clearer and no peachy tent like all other brands

It’s a good price.
I sometimes make polymer clay jewellery and other items. I’d first tried cernit because I’d needed a large block of translucent clay, and Cernit was they only one I found at a good price. I was pleasantly pleased and So I’ve since bought other colours from the same company. I’m using autumn colours for some homemade pieces at the moment and thought I had to try this amber translucent clay. I love how the translucent colours add some depth to my work alongside opaque clay.

Easy to work with, not too soft or too sticky.
I got this for my daughter who make 1/12 miniatures. She really like this White Translucent Cernit but it is not as translucent as she expected. Only very thin objects are turning really see through while most of the creations are milky white. On the positive note all Cernit clay is easy to work with, they are a bit softer than Fimo, but not too soft or sticky like some cheaper brands.

Colour is definitely not ruby red.
Love Cernit. One of my favourite brands and colour always been great. This says it’s ruby red on the packaging, the listing looks like it’s ruby red. But in person it looks like it is neon hot pink. Thought the wrong colour was sent out - but packaging says ruby red. Very disappointed.

Really pleased
Just to note, although the pack colour is hot pink, when cured in the oven this turns a beautiful ruby red. Nice clay to work with!

Check the weight details
My own fault for not checking item weight details but I seriously over paid for this assuming it was a bigger block!

It takes time to condition- but it’s worth it.
Many of these reviews comment on how dry the clay is. It is harder than sculpey and it really takes time to condition it. Don’t assume that there is something wrong with the clay- just give it time. Hold it in your hand to warm it up and slowly start kneading it. Add liquid clay if you need to. It is SO WORTH IT. There are no other translucent clay options that I have used that come even close to Cernit.
