It's solid and more stable compared to the first bar we tried. The longer base means no rocking when the gymnast swings, even with a 10 year old swinging on it. Another plus, the bar is the widest and tallest we could find on desertcart or in this price range. My daughter is 4'7" and she doesn't use the highest settings yet. The fiberglass bar is plenty strong and has a little more give than the metal bar on our first model which is important. It's more friendly on the body than metal but doesn't quite have the flex of an official sized bar due to length. For the price I don't think you can do better, at least that I was able to find. We use her inflatable gymnastics mat as padding underneath the bar and it provides a safe landing if she should fall. I'm happy wit the purchase and so is my daughter.
