Updated in July 2020 to fix clogging issues! Trying to use a slow feeder with the PetSafe automatic feeder? This adapter is designed to scatter the food across the slow feeder bowl, rather than drop the food straight down into one spot. Expect a nice snug fit to the feeders dispenser! Note that this product is designed to fit very snug into the feeder, so it may require more force to insert it properly. Once inserted properly, the adapter will not fall out of the feeder. Only compatible with the PetSafe Healthy Pet Simply Feed Automatic Feeder (ASIN B00VIXRB6O). Please note, pet feeder and bowls are not included.

Should be called "Small Cat Bowl Adapter!" So Glad We Found This Innovative Fix!! 3D printing and smart people rock!
Got the PetSafe Expensotron feeder only to find your small bowl doesn't fit under it!? This thing fixes that!!Our small <8 lb. cat's food was dwarfed by the PetSafe feeder's ginormous stainless steel bowl and I was admittedly frustrated that our $120 robofeeder would let me feed my cat 12 times a day, but only had the capability to stupidly drop food straight down. This meant that we had to put a small bowl under the feeder, which meant our cat would smack her head over and over when going to eat, or alternately we had to stack the feeder on top of unsightly boxes...The fact that someone else has looked at this feeder and said, "Why the heck didn't they just make a chute?" makes me feel validated that PetSafe missed the boat on how this feeder should be designed -- but the fact that someone actually solved the problem in a simple yet ingenius way is really impressive!Build quality is good, solid, and the adapter fits snugly. We do get a little bit of crumb build up on the lip of the feeder, but it is more like dust than anything. It has yet to jam. For reference, we feed our cat Organix dry food, which is about half the size and thickness of your average M & M. My only criticism here is that it is a bit of a blow to spend $120 on a feeder and then another $20 to make it work properly with a pretty simple plastic adapter -- but I have to also say that I feel pretty confident that if we have a problem or need another one, the manufacturer will stand by it/be around. We received an e-mail after using our purchase for a while inquiring if we were satisfied with our product, or if it was in need of any adjustment/tweaking/reprinting. We're all set and happy with our adapter! To the seller - if you are reading this: You should totally rename this product "Small Bowl Adapter" instead of "One-Way Scatter Adapter," or list this thing twice!! I had no idea what a "One Way Scatter Adapter" was -- but of your 3 reviews, two of us have already bought this as a small cat bowl adapter! :-)

My cat loves his feeder and eats much better now that he can use his bowl thanks to ...
I did not want to use the bowl that came with the cat feeder. I have a cat bowl that is elevated and tilted. My cat had problems eating out of a bowl so low to the floor, but his regular bowl wouldn't fit under the feeder. I had to elevate the feeder, but when the food came out, it did not go in the bowl, it went on the floor. I had to rig cardboard and tape it to the opening. Even with this setup, food still scattered. Some went in the bowl and the rest went on the kitchen floor. This one-way scatter adapter has solved the problem. The name says scatter, but it drops all the food into the cat bowl with no mess. My cat loves his feeder and eats much better now that he can use his bowl thanks to this adapter.

Good idea; bad implementation
Good concept, but as many have said, it has it's issues. I put it on last night and went to bed; in the morning, the last 3 feedings were jammed (I use 1/8 cup every 4 hours for my two cats, Purina One Indoor formula). The unit itself isn't as rigid as I would have expected for the price. Some edges were thinner and flimsier than others. The top of my unit was "stringy" with plastic layers poking every which direction.Ultimately, I bought this for the same reason as everyone else; the food normally just drops directly down from the shoot. This didn't solve my problem, and for $19, I'm sending it back. I wish my cats were smarter and would just use their paws to scoop the food forward!

Kinda works
Didnt like the huge metal bowl that comes with the pet food dispenser. This seemed like a good solution and it worked well for the first few feedings. After about 3 days food started to back up in the chute. Came here to find solutions and did like those before suggested and trimmed the flat bottom of the chute. Overall it works but should be tweaked before they continue to sell this product with a known issue. Nothing worse than buying something to only have to cut it up to make it work right

It works perfectly.
Ok seriously, why isn't this included with the product? Really had to get this for my pug who was having trouble reaching everything, this thing did the trick. Highly recommended.

Perfect product after some tweaking.
I was looking for an attachment that would be good for a cat's puzzle bowl. The first item I was sent didn't work well (didn't fit / jammed). I contacted the sellers and they printed me a new one that works perfectly. If you are willing to work with the seller, I'd highly recommend this attachment if you need to get food into a puzzle bowl.

Fits OK but design needs tweaked
I have tried it with 2 different kinds of kibble for my dog. One smaller and one larger. I ran into the same problem as other reviewers. It constantly clogged and was causing the motor in my feeder to burn up and error light to appear. The first thing I did was to remove the middle channel with side cutters. This helped, but did not completely fix the problem. The final fix was to remove the flat part on the bottom. This area allowed food to accumulate causing it to jam.It has now been a week without a clog after making these modifications.

Does Not Work - Repeatedly Clogs Up and Does Not Dispense Food.
I had high hopes for this custom chute, but unfortunately it does not work. The unit repeatedly gets jammed up and does dispense the food. The cause appears to be the double channel design. It may work better if the chute was not divided into two separate channels.
