It uses natural bergamot flavoring, and I think that elevates the taste. Note: I dislike Earl Grey in paper teabags because they tend to be weak; even the more expensive ones taste more like the paper than the tea or required 2-3 teabags for intensity. Essentially tea dust. I’ve had Earl Grey in a sachet that was quite enjoyable, until I listened to a podcast about the prevalence of micro plastics. So I bought a stainless tea infuser with a top, which allows the loose leaves to swell, and started trying various brands of tea. This one is the best so far.
