Review: Certified Organic Nail Polish Remover - very effective - I recently discovered a non-chemical nail polish treatment, but could only buy it if I could pair it with a chemical-free nail polish remover. Of the several polish removers that I viewed on desertcart, I finally decided to buy the Benecos Nail Polish Remover (125ml). It claimed to be ‘plant-based’, ‘acetone free’, and ‘exceptionally gentle’. I was pleased to see that this product has COSMOS (COSMetic Organic and natural Standard) certification. This means that it is recognised as an organic product as it complies with the COSMOS-standard in all points and comprises of the required percentages of organic ingredients. This polish remover is made up of 65% organic orange peel and organic lavender oil. It also contains limonene (a natural compound found in citrus peels and various plants), and ethyl lactate (alcohol) a non-toxic alternative to acetone. After placing a reasonable amount of the liquid on a standard-sized cotton pad, I pressed on each nail for a short time to allow the remover to work, as instructed. Moving the pad from cuticle to tip, I noticed that the nail polish was removed without much effort or having to scrub. Being acetone-free, I thought it would be necessary to use at least a couple of pads. Though I do not use conventional chemical nail polishes, the effectiveness of this nail remover suggests that it may well be able to handle such tasks. I am very satisfied with the Benecos Nail Polish Remover. It has a distinct orangey/lavender smell; there is no sharp, chemical fumes that can cause eye, nose, and throat irritation. I can confidently recommend this product.
Review: Surprisingly good to remove polish! - Was treated to a manicure just before Christmas and my nails were starting to look a bit straggly so was time to remove the polish. I'd not painted my nails for years, avoiding chemicals as much as possible so I purposely looked out for a less toxic remover. I was doubtful this one would work but I was so wrong. It's amazing! It removed OPI colour, base and top coat polish no problem! I love that it has a very gentle citrus smell and doesn't leave staining around my fingertips (I had a dark colour red polish on). I've also found in the past that polish will stick on the cotton pad and drag over the nail while trying to remove, but this doesn't. My skin, especially cuticles have also been irritated in the past but again this didn't cause that at all. It didn't take that much effort to use, like some reviews have said, just need to put some on cotton and press onto the nail for a minute or so then start rubbing. I really didn't need a lot at all. The only downside is that it contains alcohol so could be a little drying but this can be easily solved with a good hand lotion or oil and I would give nails a quick buff afterwards too. I'm thinking I need to start buying polish again now 🙂

**Q: Is it Cruelty-Free as well**
A: Yes, benecos is a cruelty free brand and is listed on PeTa's website as a cruelty free company.

**Q: Will this remove water based nail varnish?**
A: I would assume so, it removes normal nail polish

**Q: Anyone know of its Ingredients? Trying to find one without alcohol as it's dying**
A: Ethyl Lactate, Alcohol Denat, Glycerin, Aqua (Water), Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Peel Oil, Citrus Limonum (Lemon) Peel Oil, Limonene [1]Citral [1]Natural fragrance. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Natural & gentle
*by A***R on 8 April 2025*

I I love this nail polish remover as it’s organic certified it has a nice smell & not chemical like others it leaves a little oil residue which is a good thing as it’s not drying out your natural nails, I will keep buying this.
