More Arctic Noir!
Same as season one, but definitely spinning out of control. You'd think the series can't last much longer with killing off the main characters as fast as they do, but there is a season 3...

Not sure I would buy DVD set since watching it, I liked the first season but season 2 not so much.
Ive got all three seasons but season 3 is region 2 and will not play where I live but I do have an all region player I have not tried yet. Reason for information is that I don't know where the series is going and really how it will end. Season 2 ending as it did. I would wait until the whole series is released in your region because how it ends in 2 is not closure for a series for sure.

Great for Binging during a Heat Wave
More intensity, more nightmarish scenarios, more blood and gore against the snow. I love this series. The intensity of the plot is matched by the skill of the acting. The science from which the mysteries spring is fascinating. Perfect binge viewing for a heat wave with all the snow. And who doesn't love a good fight scene with a gorgeous naked man in the shower. This series is not for the faint-hearted, but my partner and I just love it. I can hardly wait for next year's.

Perfect casting for season 2!
Once again, the casting for Fortitude was perfect. Excellent acting all around. The story was a bit gory for me, but that didn't stop it from being extremely gripping and extraordinary. I can't wait for season 3 and I wish there were more series like this.

Extremely gory!
Wow! This is gory! Loved season 1 and was excited for season 2. I’m only on episode 6 but it’s a struggle to carry on. It’s really sickening. The plot isn’t as tight. Some of the dialog is lame. No idea where this story is headed at this point but probably not scientifically sound. Three stars for the beautifully filmed arctic setting.

A great second series!
Fortitude Season 2 picks-up where Season 1 left off, continuing the story of the town of Fortitude and its troubled inhabitants. I'm not going to discuss the actual content, as it would result in spoilers, and there are reviews elsewhere that cover the storyline in detail. Episodes 1-8 seem to have a good pace about them, but episodes 9 and 10, in particular, seemed rushed, as if trying to get to a conclusion. It was fairly obvious in places what was going to happen, but then I suppose that there's only so much that you can do to keep the mystery going. This second season does have a lot more gore in it though than I remember from season 1, and gentlemen of a nervous disposition (and that included me!) may find a couple of minutes in the last episode somewhat harrowing. I couldn't watch, but the sound effects nevertheless conveyed what was happening!Picture and sound quality were top notch -- good HD picture and full surround sound added to the drama. Visual effects seemed good. Oddly, the incidental music used did actually add to the drama, something that I find rare nowadays, and the music used for the last few minutes of the last episode seemed very soothing, to me.My only grumble relates to the disc menu system. You have the option to play all episodes on a disc (it's a two-disc set) or select an individual episode. That's fine, but if you do select an episode, rather than returning you to the selection menu when that episode finishes, the next episode starts playing straightaway. That's not like other discs that I have, and it dd get a little annoying at times, remembering to hit the pause button. Ho-hum.I'm not a Sky subscriber (for many reasons which I won't bore people with here) but I do keep a watch on what's broadcast by the company. Fortitude is definitely one of the better offerings. A third series is, I believe, due sometime in 2018 (as I write this review), which both my wife and I are eagerly awaiting to surface on blu-ray. The end of season 2, although not a cliffhanger, definitely left lots of loose ends up in the air.All-in-all (those few 'sensitive' minutes aside), a really enjoyable series. Something different for a change. Recommended!

A disappointment.....
This is a big disappointment especially if one has bought it after seeing Season One on BBC4, which whilst not a zinger was at least entertaining and not as hard to follow as this sequel. The plot is as incomprehensible as it is unbelievable, gore is spread thickly and often whenever the scriptwriters fear than viewers might be falling asleep, the dialogue is Form IV grade and it's overall failure is assured by casting Ken Stott, the king of the over-actors, in the pivotal role.I won't get caught out by a Season Three should the producers have the nerve to risk one.

Just gets weirder
Oh dear. I enjoyed the 1st series, which was basically a murder mystery though it started to get a little weird towards the end. Sadly this 2nd series is weird the whole way through. Like the Leftovers, I wont be bothering with the final series. I wouldnt waste my money.

Continuing from season1
Watched season 1, and thought I've got to get the next one. Haven't finished watching it yet, but it's not disappointing. Gets into the story a lot quicker, but probably best to see S1 first. Other reviews says gory etc, but having got this far I think I'm immune to it.

Weird and not that wonderful.
The script needs editing and the dialogue often seems rambling and improvised. Grotesque happenings enliven what is generally a badly produced overlong series of episodes.
