This bulb works just the way it says. You just turn the switch on the lamp and it goes through the modes. I put in in the top of a lamp my husband uses for reading turned all the lights off and it made the room look like it was on fire. It was very relaxing. I posted a video on Facebook and a friend of mine said his friend has one in her outdoor lamp and it makes it look like a gas light. The package says an outside lamp should be waterproof.

The media could not be loaded. I bought this bulb for a tampered non see through glass lamp and it works wonderfully. On the flicker setting it simulates a real flame very realistically and looks fantastic while having dinner in the evenings. I liked it so much that I bought a 2nd one for a flame less campfire project for my daughter's dolls. I think it turned out well and have included a short video.

Initially, I purchased this as a gift for my daughter. She loved it so much we bought two more for her friends and I even have another on the way for a pal. At first I couldn't figure out how to switch between modes, but then I realized all you have to do it turn it off and on to change the flash pattern! I felt pretty lame.

Works terrific- only problem I had was using a 3-way light socket! Does not flicker on 1 or 2; but works great on 3. I had it near curtains, and my neighbor thought I had a real fire here- and that alone made it worth the "price of admission"!

Like most I bought this bulb for the flickering flame effect. Which works great, however it is the third setting (not default) for the bulb. So every time you want that effect you have to turn it on and off three times. So if you want it on a timer it will only turn on to the steady orange light until you manually turn it on and off again a couple times. Terrible design. I am going to return for this reason. If flickering effect were made default, would be a five star bulb...

Wife loves the ambience of a candlelit room but with pets is afraid of open flame. This solves the problem. She likes the fact that it has 3 different settings. This is the second one we've ordered. Recommended. Super Fast Shipping. As Described.

Nothing much to say. Its an LED, and it seriously does look like a flickering flame! Modern whiter LEDs make me feel like I live in a hospital, so even the regular orange (one of the three modes) is pretty nice.

I love the bulb on flame mode but it’s just dumb there is no way to keep on one mode. I bought for the front porch and I want my neighbors to think we switched to gas and if I have to cut it on three times every time we cut it on then it defeats the purpose. Pretty sure I am going to return for that reason.
