Battery Isolation Switch - Automotive Battery Switches 12 Volt 300 Amp Battery Disconnect Cut Off Switch

I installed this switch inside a 2005 Dodge Durango. It's located below the dashboard and interrupts the battery's ground wire (NOT the hot wire) when the key is pulled. It was necesaary because something in the electrical system drains the battery overnight, and neither I nor a professional have been able to locate the leak so far. So I installed this as a quick stop-gap measure. This switch effectively disconnects the battery. It proved itself during a 10-day trip to Arizona and back. Not once did it fail to connect or disconnect, and there was no battery trouble whatsoever. I also like the fact that this switch is rated high-amp enough to deal with the large battery and electrical system of the Durango.

I almost didnt buy this because of reviews complaining about the key falling out. I will say this, there is no way the key will fall out in the closed position. If the key is left in the switch when off it will likely fall out. If your application doesnt require a key, a rotary switch may be a better option.This is a battery isolation switch, if used as an on/off switch for for a high amp load it will probably fail pretty quick.Given the price, if used as intended, its a great buy.

Use as winch/accessory isolation off of dual battery set up in 2018 Silverado 1500. 300 amps worth of circuit breakers trip when winch is over loaded, and switch still works. Previous switch seamed thinner and less robust and didn't have dust cap as this one does.

I used this as a battery cut off in my Can am x3, had used the same set up on my old Rzr. Does the job
