The layout of PlayStation 2's Duals Shock 2 controller is nearly identical to that of the original PlayStation's Dual Shock controller, which is good news for most gamers. The main new feature is that, when the buttons are pushed, the controller can register how much pressure is being exerted. This adds a completely new dimension to sports, racing, fighting, and other games. Aside from the Start and Select buttons, all of the functions are analogue for greater control, a wider variety of operations, and a more compelling interactive experience. Two convex analogue thumb pads and two force-feedback solenoid rumblers round out the features. This controller is also compatible with all software that supports the original Dual Shock controller.

Pay extra - get the official product
Not wanting to spend upwards of £30 on an official controller, given the age of the PS2, I decided to give this one a try. Boy, I wish I hadn't.Firstly, my item arrived in a transparent bag and not a vacuum sealed package as the image shows. I was somewhat happy about this, as opening vacuum sealed packages is a royal pain in the proverbial, but at the same time it made the product feel even cheaper than it already is and I actually had to check that the controller was new as stated and not second hand. The cable for this controller is relatively short. For me this wasn't an issue, but I can see how many people would find this problematic if they're sitting a reasonable distance away from the console. I say reasonable because most people would be sitting further away than I am, and it would definitely be a cause for concern. If you're not within 6 feet of the console, you WILL have problems. My biggest gripe and the primary reason this only gets 1 star for me is that the buttons are simply not sensitive enough. It defeats the entire purpose of making an unofficial and cheaper game controller if you have to forcefully bash a button in order for it to respond. Not only will this likely cause physical problems to not just your hand and fingers, but the controller itself (reducing life), it also means games are unplayable because the buttons don't always respond correctly. Because of this problem, it essentially renders the controller useless for games and just about passable for perhaps watching a DVD or something. But then, with the numerous other electrical devices and consoles people have, you're unlikely to use it for this anyway.Do yourself a favour, pay more and get the official controller.Pros:It works.... if you're an angry person and like to smash buttons.Cons:Very short cable.Unresponsive buttons.

Poor quality, poor service
I do not normally leave bad reviews, sometimes things are faulty and it can't be helped.I ordered two of this item, both were of poor quality and one broke immediately. I take good care of our consoles and accessories, so we are hardly hard on buttons, but the R1 just didn't work. The seller promised to send a replacement, but did not do so and then ignored all emails sent about it. I had to open an amazon dispute and eventually it was resolved by amazon refunding me due to non contact of the seller with them.I have bought many items from Amazon and this is the first one that I have ever had a problem with. Poor quality items and poor service, I would go elsewhere.

Almost original
Hoy día es difícil conseguir mandos originales para PlayStation 2 y éste mando económico es una buena opción alternativa. Los materiales no son 100% iguales pero el tacto de los sticks analógicos es buena.Today is difficult getting original pads for PlayStation 2 and this cheap pad is a good alternative option. The materials are not 100% equal but the feeling of the analog sticks is good.
