RUSTY METAL - RUST REMOVER (NON HAZARDOUS): Rusty Metal is a compound specifically developed for removing rust / corrosion from steel and iron. It is supplied as one litre of concentrate for you to mix with ten litres of water. This large volume allows components to be immersed in liquid for thorough cleaning. It is also useful when Rusty Metal is used for de-rusting the inside of car and motorcycle tanks, storage tanks, and other metal cylinders that can not be accessed except through a pipe connection aperture. The outside of a tank can be treated by leaving the tank to float in the bath of Rusty Metal. Rusty Metal will remove the heaviest corrosion leaving components and tanks bright and rust free. Rusty Metal is safe and easy to use. It is highly effective without producing noxious fumes or using hazardous chemicals. After Rusty Metal has removed the rust the steel can be protected with any products of your choice. SD Seal-Ox de-watering/ inhibiting oil is fine for engine parts and tools.Prior to using Rusty Metal thoroughly degrease the items and then wash with detergent such as Fairy Liquid. MiIXING AND USAGE INSTRUCTIONS: Put seven litres of water of warm water (50°C) into a bowl and slowly mix in one litre of Rusty Metal. Then mix in three more litres of heated water. Place rusty components in the solution and leave from between 30 minutes and 12 hours at 20° C, the higher the temperature of the solution the quicker it will remove the corrosion. In a commercial situation we would recommend holding the tank temperature between 32°C and 36°C and expect corrosion to be removed somewhere between 5 minutes and 3 hours. Badly rusted items can take up to 12 hours. Temperature does not effect the cleaning, just the speed of operation and it can be raised to 60°C for more speedy working.
