The best binder I've ever found
I am a child of the eighties, having grown up with Trapper-Keepers and the like. Mine were always disorganized after about the first week of school. I blame it partly on not having a system to go by to keep it neat, and partly on the binder itself. Those things just weren't designed that great. Not this sucker. This thing ROCKS! First of all, it zips all the way around on the outside, so it keeps your papers and stuff dry, safe and it prevents them from scattering, even if a divider should break on you. It has an outer pocket on the front which is large enough for letter-sized papers and is pretty secure. The zipper is strong, secure, zips quickly & never sticks or gets caught on anything in the binder.Inside, it's even better. It has a built-in solar calculator, places for business cards, a couple of highlighter/pen holders, and a big zippered pocket on the left-hand side, as well as another open, wide pocket (great for a book or a big thesis report). The binder rings are large, secure (I despise binder rings that break or won't click together) and hold a heck of lot of papers. I use plastic dividers with pockets, so there's even less chance of papers falling out. In the front divider pockets go homework assignments that need to be done for each subject; in the back pockets, homework assignments that are finished get placed there. On the right-hand side of this binder is yet another full-size, unzippered pocket behind a letter-size paper pad holder. This "hides" well in the binder, so it'd be a good place to put anything that you need to be very securely stored. On a side note, I use Levenger-brand letter-size pads, which is the best paper I've ever found. The paper holder is also very sturdy and secure. The whole thing looks like it could go through a bombing and survive intact. I've had mine for three years, and it still looks brand-new. It wipes clean easily, if you do spill anything on it, inside or out. It is worth every penny. I would've been a far better, less overwhelmed & more organized student had this been in my life as a kid!No student should be without this, but it also works great as a recipe holder. All those recipes printed off of the internet can be three-hole-punched, divided into category, and put in this binder with no worries. It folds out completely flat and holds up extremely well as a cookbook.I also use one of these as a portable "office in a bag". In it I keep my day planner pages, this year's calendar printed out, a pad of lined paper, post-it notes, a couple of pens, a couple of highlighters, a lightweight & fun book to read, any bills to pay that can't be done online, my address & phone # list, thank-you notes w/ matching cards, business envelopes, address labels & postage stamps. This is fabulous for those times when you want to get paperwork things done & have some spare time (such as when you're on a lunch break, waiting in the doctor's office or for your kid to finish up soccer practice). The only thing that would make it more convenient in this capacity would be to have a handle on the outside. But if you're carrying it in a backpack or big messenger bag, then a strap would be unnecessary.Update: Just wanted to say I very recently bought a new binder like this for college (my old one was being used as the aforementioned cookbook), and the new one's as first-rate as the one I bought three years ago. This is a very reputable company that makes consistently well-made products. I'm really impressed. Oh, by the way, the binder comes with a letter-sized pad of Swiss Army-brand paper. A nice touch, and it's high-quality, too.

Great Portfolio For the Price
I purchased this as I had tried the Wenger Zippered Padfolio and it turned out to be too thin to properly store my organizer and writing tools. It was beautifully made otherwise. This followed much of the same excellent Wenger quality—however the material feels different. It not so much like soft leather as the Padfolio was. It's more rubbery. It is also very flexible. If it is filled (especially by more than rectangular pads), it takes on a lumpy appearance. For my needs, however, I cannot complain. It has more than enough space for my planner, pencil holding pouch, sticky notes, and more. It looks very classy and is very durable. I look forward to carrying it with me every day.

Perfect business functionality; good style.
For starters, anyone looking at this portfolio should know that the Zip Folio (no handle or strap) and the Diplomat Present-o-folio (with handle and strap) seem to be interchangable as far as the shipper is concerned. I ordered the Zip Folio but was sent the Present-o-folio. I like what they sent me so I don't have a problem with the switch. Now, for the style and function. Definitely vinyl, but good looking vinyl - does not look cheap in any way. It says it is leather trimmed. Maybe. But I don't think anyone would ever be embarrassed to use this portfolio. It is a professional looking and functioning product. The function is terrific. The 3-ring binder is removable. With the binder removed, the right side of the case will hold its 8 1/2 x 11 yellow pad, with a protective holding pocket located behind the pad. I use this pocket to hold a bluetooth keyboard. I can then lay my 10.1" tablet including its protective holder over the pad (there is room to spare if you have slightly larger tablet). On the left side of the folio there is a rather useless calculator (seems anachronistic - since most people probably have a calculator app in their smartphone already); I think the real estate could be better used as another pocket. There are three pockets for business cards, credit cards, etc. There is one full length half-depth pocket which could hold fairly flat items like a passport or whatever. Behind all this is a file folder space that would hold two standard file folders with several sheets of paper in each of them. In closing up the portfolio, there still would be ample room for your car keys, a smartphone, and earbuds. I inserted a mesh pouch with velcro that allows me to carry items like an eye drops and small aspirin bottle. On top of it all, there is an external pouch which you might put a paper boarding pass for quick access. In other words this is the perfect business portfolio for anyone who doesn't need a full size briefcase.I have had two fairly expensive leather portfolios which did not hold up very well at all. Seams split, zippers broke, etc. This case appears very well made. The zipper is especially sturdy. And I do like the handle and carrying strap now that I have it. I am a very pleased customer and at least for now, would give this case a strong recommendation.

The Wenger Carina Binder Folio is a great folio. It not only has plenty of storage capabilities, but it's pretty tough too. It's not too heavy and doesn't feel like your carrying a ton of bricks. Its slim, with enough pockets to carry all my necessary items. The calculator comes in very handy and I've used it many more times then I originally thought I would. I highly recommend this product!

Roomy Organizer
I have small hands and this folio is very big for my hands. Nevertheless I was able to place several file folders and 100 sheets in the three ring binder, with the legal pad without having problems zipping the folio closed. The zipper is tricky to close, it takes some patience to start the zipper moving. The folio does spread out completely flat on a table or desktop. I wanted something that I could easily carry in my hands, but due to size it is uncomfortable to carry with a purse and it does not fit into a small briefcase. I decided rather than carry it through the airport, to pack the folio in my luggage, the folio does not have any carry handles. Overall, I will continue to use for travel for organizing files and papers into one place.
