Useful and easily portable....
These tape measures and the thread ripper will make an excellent addition to my wife's sewing and knitting kits and I will be keeping one for myself to use in the workroom too. The tapes are a good length at just over five feet (1.5 meters) long and are very clearly marked. They are made of some king of strong plastic but do not stretch under tension, and the ends are protected by a thin piece of folded brass-like metal. The seam ripper comes in a neat plastic case that protects it and can be reversed, like the top of a pen, to elongate the tool. It has an efficient blunted point and a very sharp cutting edge. I tested it on my shirt label and it worked beautifully. It sliced straight through the label and easily cut the stitches without damaging the material below. This is the first time I have ever tried using one of these and I will be unlikely to ever return to a sharp blade now. It feels as though it is fairly robust and will last a long time, and I was delighted with both the ease of use and the good job it did. My wife has no complaints either and is also very happy with both these items.
