Does the job well
This does everything a digital scale should - quick response, very easy to use, accurate, uses AAA batteries (rather than button cells that last about 5 mins), stays on for a sensible time and has an off switch (many don't).It does look a bit cheap for a £10 item, especially as it's off-white, but it's compact and so can easily live in a drawer or cupboard. I looked at a LOT of reviews for scales before buying this, all seem to have some problem or drawback so am very happy I found this one. Update Jan 2020 - still going well after 3 years, hardy ever need to change the batteries either! Really good product.

Wouldn't be without these as one of my best kitchen assets.
I have recently bought a spare, as don't ever want to be without these scales. These are so easy to use for anyone, space saving ,accurate for small measures,& large, in gm's,ml's,. lb.'s, & oz's.They take a much larger weight than many other scales I have used & seen this size,.& light weight to handle. Can add other ingredients into one light-medium weight bowl , as can press back to zero when measured the 1st. ingredient,to measure more.I now add by the spoonful more carefully towards the upper weight required,so as not to go over what is needed.Does not switch off too soon, so can add if have to fetch something from fridge or cupboard.Prefer to use a food safe plastic plate on the scales for weighing marge/butter/fat etc.putting a plastic plate on before setting ,to zero again.I use a jug for liquids ,check an egg weight, too, as come in such variable weights & sizes these days. After my 1st. order of a faulty one, with the top that came came off exposing the batteries,I was keen to try another,as saw the working accuracy .Very glad I did.No fuss return.A'win, win' item for me.A great space saver,in a small kitchen, too. I contacted the the seller,to ask how best too store these,as had put upright in my cupboard,& wasn't sure was the right thing to do.The reply 'store horizontal', not mentioned here nor anywhere, nor on their web site.A handy thing to know.Absolutely no trouble since, after over a year of regular use, still Highly recommend.

Great Buy.
I am very pleased with my purchase,it surpassed my expectations. The item was delivered in the timescale that was promised, securely wrapped and in pristine condition. The scale has met all my needs,I particularly like the ability to weigh very small amounts, this function is not always standard on scales.I would not hesitate to recommend this company and would check out their site for future purchases.

Good scales
Easy to use, and you can add to whilst cooking. Small enough to have on the worktop or tucked into the cupboard, very pleased.

... but the readout is clear and the product seems good value for money
I've only used this a couple of times since purchase but the readout is clear and the product seems good value for money. I'd never heard of the brand before but so far so good. So why did I plump for this over brands that were more familiar? I'm totally sick of my Salter scales suddenly dying on me mid-bake and not having a spare battery to hand - these take batteries I always have a rechargeable version of in the house.

Quick and Easy to use
Really pleased with these scales. Quick and easy to use, and you can put a dish on, press start and it will start from 0 then you can keep adding ingredients rather than weighting them one by one!

A dinky little weighing scale that does the job perfectly
A dinky little kitchen scale that does the job perfectly. It is the size of an A5 book and can easily be stored away in a drawer. You can put any container you wish on it - it will subtract this from the weight of the food or fluid. I am very pleased with it.

BEST FOOD SCALE EVER
DIGITAL KITCHEN SCALE BY ZERLAThis is the BEST food scale EVER. Trust me on this! This is a pretty simple scale to use. You press the TARE button to turn it off or on. You push the left button for unit of measure. You can measure in ounces, grams, pounds. The screen is easy and bright for your reading convenience. Portion control has never been easier. We use this scale to measure out foods but we also use it to measure ground beef. We purchase bulk ground beef and like to divide it into one pound bags for freezing. This was always a guessing game until now. We just put the meat in a bowl and add the beef until it is at the one pound point. Simple, easy, convenient.Another great thing about this scale is when you put a container on the scale to measure ANYTHING - the scale automatically subtracts the weight of that container and you are left with the exact measurement of the item in that container. How cool is that? The scale comes with two AAA batteries. When said batteries are low and need changing the screen will indicate "lo". You must plug in unit to charge when necessary. This is a home kitchen scale and should not be used for industrial use. It is a great buy for the price. Our daughter has two of these in her home for her uses. There is also a money back guarantee within 30 days of use if you are not happy with this scale. Who could not be happy with this? It is accurate, precise, and measures very efficiently.Recommended.

No Frills, Low Cost, Repeatable, Easy to Clean and Use. Recommend.
DISCLAIMER: The seller contacted me and offered the free item if I agreed to evaluate it and publish my review. I accepted this offer. Please note that my loyalty is to the consumer and not to the supplier- free items will not persuade me to submit a glowing review if one is not deserved. If writing a less than stellar review disqualifies me from future free offers, let it be done! [review edited 12/27/19 to correct 2 typos]I have not read any other reviews to avoid biases.Receipt of Item:Item arrived via normal Prime shipping a few days after ordered. It was well padded and arrived in good condition. The box contains a prominent “Made in China” sticker which will not surprise anyone these days.Initial Impressions:The item looks as described. Color is off-white. It comes with two AAA batteries and a small 4 page instruction manual. The manual reads well and appears to have been written by a native English speaker. The batteries install easily on the backside of the unit. Battery install is intuitive and occurred without issue.Usage:The unit has 4 padded feet and sits solidly on the countertop. I was not able to make it rock in any direction by alternating finger pressure onto opposite corners of the device. The scale has two buttons. The right-side button powers the unit up and “Tares” the display. A tare allows you to zero out the weight of a container so you can, for example, know how much sugar is in the container as it is added (no need for mental or notepad math). The left button is to change the units displayed. You can chose between grams (XXXX), lbs (X.XXX), oz (X.XX), or mL (XXXX). The mL function is identical to the gram function and assumes a fluid density of 1g/mL.The buttons are of the sealed membrane design. The feel” is acceptable and normal for this type of design. It takes a fair amount of pressure to make contact – I think this is good as you know for sure when contact has been make. I pushed one button 400X, and it was unchanged in feel over the other button that remained in “new” condition for comparison.Repeatability:I selected 8 random objects from my house that varied in weight from about 9 grams to about 2 kg. Over the course of 3 consecutive days, I weighed each object and record its weight. Repeatability of the device was very good over the entire range examined. I typically saw no variation in the reported weight using the gram scale, i.e., agreed to better than 1 gram in all cases and measurements.Calibration Accuracy:I was not able to directly test this as I do not have access to certified weight standards, but I did compare to a Harbor Freight unit in my garage and the two devices agreed within a gram or two over the full range of the 8 objects used in the repeatability section above. I did multiple weights of room temperature water in a measuring cup, and the volumes agreed well with the weight of the water (1g/mL). Confidence is high that the unit is reporting weights well within requirements of its intended use.Robustness:I tared the unit, then carried it to the living room where I stood a distance of 5 feet from the couch. I lofted it onto the couch 10 times in random orientation, and placed it back on the countertop. It maintained its initial tare weight.I then stood on a foot stool, and dropped it 5 feet onto the couch hitting all sides, corners and faces (total of 10 combinations). The unit continued to maintain its tare.I held it 1 to 2 inches above a concrete floor, and dropped it 3 times onto its 4 padded feet. This made me cringe but the unit continued to hold its tare.Lastly, I simulated it being knocked off the tabletop and failing onto the hardwood floor – a vertical distance of about 30 inches. This sounded horrible, but the unit still held its tare and it appeared undamaged.Abuse:The unit has a maximum weight range of 5Kg (11.025 lbs). I placed the unit on the countertop, tared it, and gently placed a brick on it known to weigh 5.5 kg. The unit displayed “Err” indicating an over range condition. The unit returned to its prior tare value when the weight was removed. This was repeated 9 additional times and the unit returned to its initial tare in all cases. I am confident that if I had carelessly dropped the brick onto the scale from any significant height, the scale would have been damaged. I did not feel this was necessary to prove this, and it is clearly not punishment anyone would consider reasonable.Final Assessment:This is a nice little scale for Kitchen or light duty use. It looks nice and would be easy to clean. For $12.00 including free shipping, I honestly cannot find any criticisms to list. It is low cost, can take reasonable abuse, is easy to use, and has very well written instructions for those that need them. We will use it in our Kitchen (occasional use) and if there are any problems I will update my post.If you are looking for a low cost scale for home use, I can recommend this device.

Love my new kitchen digital scale by Zerla!
I love everything about this scale. It is light weight, compact, accurate, and I am now able to make a lot more dishes that ask for 8 oz of sour cream as opposed to buying an 8 oz container of sour cream. I have been wanting to make this quiche forever now, and now that I have this digital scale, I was finally able to make it and it turned out absolutely delicious! At first I didn't think that I was going to be able to make this dish because it called for a half pound of mushrooms, but then I thought, "oh, I just bought a kitchen scale, lets give it a try." So I did and it turned out to be delicious! I've been wanting a scale forever now, but they have always been so expensive or I just would forget to put it on a Christmas list. But for under $20, I was able to give myself a little gift and now I am able to make smoothies, complete recipes that required weight as opposed to cups, teaspoons, etc. This was one of the best purchases I have made and I am so glad I did. If you're in the market looking for digital scale, I would recommend this one by Zerla. It arrived on time, in a bubble wrap package so nothing was broken. It came with 2 double A batteries and instructions. You are able to use a bowl or plate and set the scale to zero without having to do the math yourself. I am impressed by everything about this scale. Thank you Zerla for making a great product!I tried to include the video of my product test, but it wouldn't let me, so all I could do is attach this picture showing an unopened 16 oz of Sour Cream that I used for my Quiche so you are able to see how accurate it is.

Great, inexpensive scale for general kitchen weights.
4.5 stars. I purchased this scale as a backup to my more expensive Globe scale at my restaurant, which even at $75 is still considered inexpensive in the restaurant world. I was skeptical to say the least with this purchase but for the money I thought it was worth a shot. I was delighted to find the scale is durable and easy to use. It measures very accurately (within range of my other scales). We don't use this scale for resale packaging, as it isn't certified for that but for basic measuring and portioning it works flawlessly. It is a bit harder to clean than the Globe and probably not as durable, but anytime an electronic scale is dropped it's usually fatal anyway. And with 50 employees, I will always have one dropped at some point (but not yet!) so I would much rather replace a $10 unit then $75 one any day.. Overall a great purchase. I gave it 4.5 stars bc it didn't have an easily removable product tray to clean. It would be easier if there was a stainless steel or plastic tray that lifted off the top of the plastic tray, but overall it is still a great scale. I will likely buy a couple more for spares! And in case you are wondering, I did not receive any type of a discount for this review...I just felt obligated to promote a good product that has worked well for me.

Great scale
This is an excellent little scale. It’s size is great for small kitchens and it is extremely easy to use right out of the box. It comes with batteries which always wins brownie points with me. I like being able to Change the units. I used it to weigh food in ounces and some baby formula in grams. I measured two containers of powdered formula to make sure I’ve been filling them equally all this time. They were .4 grams away from what the package says two scoops should weigh (one was .4 under, and one was .4 over) so I was happy to known that info. The scale was very easy to zero out, and gave readings quickly. There is a small manual with very easy instructions and info. Item was well packaged and shipped well. I was wanting a scale anyway and I’m really glad I was able to get this one. Definitely recommend.Update: have been using this for several things but mostly to make sure my sons formula volume is consistent. He is at 5 oz and scoops only go by 2s, and I’m just not okay with fully wasting an entire ounce every feed. The issue is that half scoops can be highly objective to the eye even with a half way line on the scoop. I also never felt like scoops were consistently filled. There’s be an air pocket in one, or overfill in another. I jsut didn’t like it. So I did an experiment to see how consistently I was scooping. I was able to accomplish this with this scale. I also wanted to use the tommy tippee storage cups so I was able to zero those out on the scale. Turns out The scoopers resulted in pretty inconsistent bottles. 5 oz should be about 22 grams. I was finding that they were 24g, 21g, 19g. Using this scale I am now able to make sure they are all 22g. It really only takes like two extra minutes to do and helps me feel better about it. I included a new pic of the containers all even
