Rune Balot's struggle to bring the man who killed her to justice continues amid the world of high-stakes gambling and glamour at the Eggnog Blue Casino. The odds are stacked heavily in the house's favor, and even with the aid of Dr. Easter and Oeufcoque, a universal item capable of turning into anything and everything, Rune's chances of winning are slim. But winning the golden chips containing Shell Septinos' memories is only the next step on a long and treacherous road. Run will still have to live long enough to bring those memories before the court, and even that isn't the end of the journey. Rune's search for answers to the questions that haunt comes to a shattering climax! Contains both the television version and director's cut of Mardock Scramble: The Third Exhaust.

How to play black-jack, the anime
Long overdue its UK release, this concise number finishes up the Mardock Scramble trilogy in style - if not necessarily with skill. You can expect the usual luxurious Instagram style, all tinted colours and gloss. But beyond that, this definitely feels like the weakest of the trio - bogged down as it is by a frustratingly obtuse blackjack game that takes up pretty much the entire first half of the movie. It might be a piece of advice to brush up on the rules of the game before you start watching.Part two delivers what we all really came here for. Rune vs. Boiled, the final showdown. And it's suitably bloody. And while the ending might not deliver the emotional punch it could have, everything is mostly all nicely tied up, and you begin to understand the machinations behind this whole sordid affair. Just don't expect the film to live up to the cyberpunk trappings that initially looked so invitingly drawn out in the first installment.

The end of Rune Balot's journey does not disappoint.
The Mardock Scramble movies before this one showed us a well-animated and gorgeous anime that took very mature and sometimes uncomfortable themes, and successfully created a story with a lot of charm and heart to it. This film wraps the trilogy up very nicely. The stakes get high towards the end, and Rune Balot is forced to make tough decisions. We manage to see her overcome even more obstacles and grow as a character in this film, and the rewarding moments of her success are endeering enough to show the viewer that the final film still has charm to spare.I highly recommend getting this. Complete the Mardock Scramble story with this epic finale. It might start off a bit slow, but it will soon pick up, and it's definitely worth it in the end.

Stylish and gripping
Really! three volumes at £20 a pop ( I have heard in japan anime is very expensive ). This third volume is a satisfactory conclusion to a modern sci-fi crime thriller that does not disappoint on any level including superb visuals. For me the outlay is too high so 4 stars. But Oeufcoque is seriously cute. Will he appear in his cute mouse form in the third installment? Who Knows..
