Playlist: The Very Best Of Bangles

Pros: CD and packaging were perfect. Everything as expected. Audio quality and fidelity were better than expected, like it was remastered or something. Excellent.Cons: None.Thoughts: My sister had this CD, and my family wanted to hear more of them. Finally picked this up and now the kids get to experience them for the first time. Great music from one of the better times of rock.

I have always liked the Bangles for their music, particularly for their rendidtion of the Prince-penned "Manic Monday' and for 'Walk Like and Egyptian." Not all of the work selected here has held up so well but much of it can still be listened to with enjoyment and it should find a new generation of listeners through this release. One thing to remember is that this is a 'girl band' from an era where there were great 'girl' vocal groups but few young women who could play, sing and compose some of their own hits. One other oustanding example from the same time is the 'Go-Gos.' As instrumental musicians, the band puts down driving beats and as vocalists, they produce some fine close harmony work. Pop this CD in the car audio system and hit the road.

The Bangles were one of the best "all girl" bands of the eighties, and they're still performing today, minus Michael Steele. I've always been a fan, and so when I saw the opportunity to buy this album, I took it. This album contains all their top hits, including their two number one hits. I wanted the CD so I could listen in my car when I'm traveling; this is very good music to listen to while driving. If you're a Bangles fan, I definitely recommend this album.

This album is a very well put-together compilation of the Bangles works. It's kind of a pity they didn't last longer, because they were pretty good. Too, a couple of locations did a send-up of "Walk Like an Egyptian" saying "Drive like a New Mexican" or a Pennsylvanian. Both send-ups were cute and a lot closer to the truth than some would have liked. Still, the Bangles were a great group, and this is a great collection.

I paid $2.99 for this. (a real bargain!) With the full version of "Hazy Shade of Winter", "Hero Takes a Fall" (Single mix)" and "Be With You" (Single mix) all in one place, it's a no brainer. A great collection of some of The Bangles best stuff, it's a nice iPod addition and fills a couple of holes in any Bangles collection. So if you can grab it a reasonable price, don't pass it by.
