Sleeping With Other People [2017]

Sleeping With Other People is not at all what I expected. I'm a big fan of the cast, but having seen Friends with Benefits et al, I'd already made my mine up that this wasn't going to be particularly good.How wrong was I!? This film does a superb job of exploring the emotional part of relationships, with strong comedic and dramatic elements. Jason Sudekis is on top form, with some of his finest work, and Alison Brie is, as usual, excellent. They have tremendous screen chemistry; pretty much everyone does in this film. Great to see Jason Mantzoukas play a vaguely normal character, but with his usual twist of chaos, and great reparte with the superb Andrea Savage. Seriously, the end credits scene between these two is brilliant. Amanda Peet and Adam Scott (who took me half the film to even recognise) add even more to this film and the remaining supporting cast are excellent; Natasha Lyonne and Adam Brody's cameos shine.My one complaint is that for a film that does so well exploring the emotional connection, there is an awful lot of sex scenes, some of which are just plain unnecessary. Some add to the story, some could've just been implied, but it's a minor complaint given that we get to see Alison Brie in lingerie...Overall, I wholly recommend this film. It's not perfect, and I almost gave it 4 stars, but there's a lot to like here. The cast really do make this film shine, and the story is something a little different than your average romcom.

One of the funniest, laugh out loud ROMCOMs, that's not soppy, it's so realistic and it's sexy without nudity. I feel it's one of the most honest love aStories out there. Two great Performances by it's lead, and the small ensamble.Imperfect people on theor journeys...it's smart and witty. I don't usually like this genre but I love this movie have watched it so many times

Surprisingly good film. I really enjoyed it my expectation was the normal run of the mill rom-com which the film is to a point. The acting in is very good and Alison Brie is a sensation who you fall in love with throughout the film. Very good and fun film and I would recommend a glass of wine and enjoyment one evening.

Watched this on a Saturday night, I know not very exciting! I scanned all the movies on my prime membership and didn’t want to spend a lot, so for 99p this movie is ok!!

Entertaining light comedy for a night in...

Yes was a fun film, really enjoyed it, likened to real life.

... das ist es, was Lainey(Alison Brie) und Jake(Jason Sudeikis) wirklich miteinander verbindet. Wobei das nur daran liegt, dass sie nicht miteinander ins Bett steigen. Zwar haben sie genau das vor 12 Jahren getan, jeder als Lebenspremiere, doch danach herrschte Funkstille. Jetzt lernen sie sich wieder kennen und müssen mit Erschrecken feststellen, dass ihre Leben sich eigentlich nur um Sex drehen. Jason ist ein Frauenheld, der reihenweise Dates hat und Lainey hängt noch immer ihrer Highschoolliebe Matthew(Adam Scott) nach, der zwar mit ihr schläft, sie aber nicht liebt. So kommen Lainey und Jake mit all ihren Problemen als Freunde zusammen, und dabei soll es auch bleiben. Man tauscht Tipps und Tricks aus, rührt sich aber nicht an. Logisch, dass das nicht lange gut gehen kann...Da hat Leslye Headland eine etwas andere Komödie an den Start gebracht. Wer den Trailer sieht und hört, vermutet die typische 08/15 Hollywood Lovestory. Doch weit gefehlt. -Sleeping with other People- geht hier und da, vor allem verbal, sehr viel tiefer als unter die Gürtellinie. Da geht es teilweise ziemlich zur Sache und der Zuschauer fragt sich zeitweise, wie das mit der FSK Beschränkung eigentlich aussieht. Es gibt Gags, die sind wunderbar gelungen, und wieder andere, die sind flach und vulgär. Doch sie wissen ja: Die Geschmäcker sind verschieden.Vor allem lebt der Streifen jedoch von Alison Brie und Jason Sudeikis. Die beiden spielen sich die Bälle der Geschichte wirklich sehr gut zu und sind verdammt unterhaltsam. Ob ihnen das am Ende doch eine Spur zu „schlüpfrig“ ist oder nicht, müssen sie entscheiden. Sagen sie nicht, ich hätte sie nicht gewarnt.

Können zwei Seriencheader eine zweite Chance auf die Liebe erhalten? Nach einem One-Night-Stand im College treffen sich die New Yorker Lainey und Jake zwölf Jahre später durch Zufall und stellen fest, dass beide das gleiche Problem haben: Aufgrund ihrer Monogamie-Herausforderung kann keiner eine Beziehung aufrechterhalten. Entschlossen, trotz ihrer gegenseitigen Anziehung Freunde zu bleiben, schließen sie einen Pakt, um es platonisch zu halten, was sich als leichter gesagt als getan erweist.

A very touching and loving story about failed romances and the search for that special someone. The actors breathed new life into the familiar story of love and all it's complications. It's a great little story about never giving up and knowing who is the right person for you. Highly recommend and it is a great date night movie to watch with your special someone.G.Smith.

I'm in love with this movie! I wanted to watch this movie because I became a big fan of Alison Brie who was on the TV show "Community" for 6 seasons which I loved! There is not a bad scene in this whole movie! Jason Sudeikis and Alison Brie had some amazing chemistry in this movie! Really funny movie and the dialog was really well written! Totally recommend this movie for anyone who loves romantic comedies!10/10

Well cast with great acting and a story that will capture your imagination. Not just another "Friends" movie but a real reflection of how relationships can ebb and flow in our time.

Sleeping with other People mit Alison Brie und Jason Sudeikis ist eine wilde Mischung aus Romantic Comedy und recht derber Sexkomödie, die mich aber durchweg unterhalten hat und bei mir für zwei große Lacher und diverse Schmunzler gesorgt hat. Sicher nichts weltbewegendes aber für zwischendurch absolut okay.

Very original rom-com. The premise is that the main characters have unhealthy relationships: he is a sex addict; she is probably a love addict. It has a great message and seems a bit less fanciful than the average rom com (despite the unnecessary plot points where he strikes it rich and she decides to go to medical school despite seeming perfectly happy as an elementary school teacher). The supporting characters were interesting and the setting was beautiful (lots of good Upper West Side and Central Park scenes).

Love this movie!! The case was damaged on top, so after awhile I’m sure I’ll have to place the movie in a cd case or something. The disc doesn’t appear to be scratched or damaged so I’m happy about that at least.
