ECO 12 - 12kW Swimming Pool Heat Pump (0891964)

It is always a slight worry when you spend a thousand pounds on a non-branded Chinese manufactured item. However, at this price, I felt it was worth a go. The heat pump arrived on a palate about a week after I ordered it (not bad as I live in the Channel Islands), and although not particularly well packed, it did arrive without damage.It looks like any other heat pump / air conditioning unit, and it runs reasonably quietly. More of the noise is the low frequency noise from the compressor rather than the fan. The case is a thin metal with an off-white painted coat. I suspect it will begin to look quite rusty within a year or two, especially it left outside over the winter. As I am using the heat pump with an above ground pool I will decommission it and store it in the garage over the winter - hopefully that way I should get a good few years out of it before the case rusts away.Anyway - it worked as soon as I turned it on (well after 3 minutes as there is a delay timer installed), and I will update this report it I get any problems with the pump.Update after 8 weeks. No faults or problems BUT it only works when the outside temperature is above about 13 degrees. If the temperature is below 8 degrees it does not even try to start, but if between temp of 8 and 13 it will run for an hour or two until the heat exchanger is totally iced up, then take many hours for the ice to melt before it starts again. This means that you can only effectively warm your pook if the temperature is above 13 degrees.

Great value for money. It done exactly "what it said on the tin"!. Well done! Very easy to install and run. I put it on to a 36000lt pool and it heated to 29C after 2 days full running from 16C. Goes from 20C to 29C in approx 4 hours in June.
