Review: Surf Movie - The original surfers in search of great wave movie. Although slightly more like a documentary much of the time. The commentary is funny and the surfing footage great, especially given this was filmed in the early 60's. Finally although not directly connected with these comments. There is or at least was an endless summer beach bar in Santa Barbara near the marina and worth a visit if your in that area. It has some memorabilia from the film. I used the upstairs bar rather than the proper restaurant which seemed more fitting with the theme of the place

It's probably THE classic surf documentary, following two guys on their global search for the perfect wave. Made in the sixties, the fact that it is so dated (in the narration, set-piece scenes and also what constitutes a perfect wave) makes it even more enjoyable. If Alan Wicker had made a surf travel documentary....

The original surfers in search of great wave movie. Although slightly more like a documentary much of the time. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The Definitive Surf Film

The reason I travelled round the world surfing was this one film. Upgraded format to blueray is an improvement whilst still retaining that old tape feel. If you surf or interested in surfing and haven't watched this film/documentary then you're missing out. Give it a go and I bet you will want to pack in the job, book a flight and travel... surfboard under arm. :)
