Q: Does this come with a remote to start & stop recording? is there a pdf manual?

No remote and no pdf manual. The maximum amount of time to record is 17 minutes - then you have to put all the 17-minute segments together to make your video.

Sorry, It can't. Only can support: HDMI PCM 2ch 44.1, or PCM 2ch 48, or AAC audio. Thanks

Q: Can I use this device to convert vhs videos with the help of a hdmi adapter?

Yes. I use a NTSC composite video up converter to HDMI. This feeds to the Flash Drive Recorder. My only complaint is that it stretches the 4:3 video to 16:9 aspect. It needs to be corrected with an editor. VHS conversion does look good though. Audio levels seem low though. Video tape does degrade over time. Unless carefully stored, most VHS are unable to be played back after 25 -30 years.

It can capture these: 1920 x 1080 (50i), 1920 x 1080 (60i), 1920 x 1080 (24p), 1920 x 1080 (25p), 1920 x 1080 (30p), 1920 x 1080 (25p), 1920 x 1080 (30p). Thanks
