Seagate Desktop HDD 500, GB 3.5, SATA II

Solide aufgebaute HDD. 500GB gewählt wegen Größe der alten Datenplatte, die S.M.A.R.T - Fehler zeigte.Das ist eine Ankündigung für ein kommendes Ende der Festplatte.Alte Platte mit Clonzilla ohne Probleme übertragen.Hoffe auf lange Lebenszeit, die wie vorher 5 bis 6 Jahre sein sollte.Mehr darf man von einer HDD mit regem Zugriff nicht erwarten.

Leider war nirgendwo zu ersehen, dass es sich um eine OEM Festplatte handelt, für die seitens Seagate keine Gewährleistung oder Garantie besteht.Wenn C-Pay also morgen seine Pforten schliesst, steht man im Ernstfall ohne Ansprechpartner da.Blöderweise brauche ich die Festplatte dringend, sonst würde das Teil sofort zurückgehen.Edit:Obendrein ist das Teil auch noch laut beim Zugriff. Geht zurück.

Ce disque dur est non reconnu dès réception, j'ai essayé sur l'ordinateur cible (sur lequel le disque dur est destiné) et sur station d'accueil icy box. Après plusieurs essais le disque dur en question ne fonctionne pas.

This drive surprised me just a bit, by not even being initialized. I had done that before, but it had been a long time. Most drives arrive already-initialized and pre-formatted. It was actually quite refreshing to start with the initialization and format it the way I wanted, from there. Just be aware that you may need to do so, if you order one of these. It will show up in your Computer Management panel, but it will NOT be plug-and-play. You will have to go to that panel to find it, initialize it as a New Simple Volume. If you have any questions about doing that, you can Google "initializing a new Windows hard drive," and you'll find several guides to the process.

noisy as **** first install it sounds like an older HDD from the 90s with the clicking sounds from the heads moving across it think i will search for another and use this as a back up drive until then its staying unplugged

First of all, I use seagate drives. Every drive in every system I have control over has a seagate in it. Trust me, that's a lot of drives.These are fast, stable, reliable and cheap. Great boot drives with solid reputations.

It crapped way too soon. Pay the extra money for a upper level Western Digital. It's worth it.

This is superduper really good buy it you'll like it

Small but useful. It is reconditioned and too expensive when compared to GB hard drives. So far it is still working.

The seek is a little loud, but it won't bother me.

A LITTLE NOSEY, BUT WORKS FINE

This drive is more than enough for me. It doesn't make sense to have a gig and have it fail.
