Review: I had high expectations and was genuinely blown away - To sum up what I'm about to say, Ariana really truly did reclaim the narrative - HER narrative, and she did it in a way that also showed there is room for healing and there is never an occasion in which a good cocktail (with or without alcohol) can't help a little. I am so excited to make every recipe in the book. I bought this book when she first announced it because 1 I've been betrayed and wanted to support, 2 because I've been a longtime fan of vanderpump rules (and longtime hater of Sandoval), and 3 because there is nothing better to me than a good cocktail (and I had already tried her cloudberry syrup from DFH which is honestly dank). I was excited to get it mostly read Ariana's words about her own story, but I wasn't really planning to care about the cocktail part until after my first read. I am genuinely so impressed with how she fuses the drinks with feelings that I, at least, can relate so closely to. I wanted to make every drink as much as I was enthralled with her story. I ended up making the My Sweet Honey for my boyfriend and I which is a tequila/lemon/honey cocktail and it was absolutely delicious and easy to make. It really is a journey and my heart hurts so much for her at the levels they went to to lie to her, but I am also surprised that this book has positives and negatives about both of them. All in all, 5 stars well deserved. Makes me so happy to see her winning when she could have let this break her. Highly recommend!! Do I make cocktails at home? No. Will I? No. Do I support Ariana? YES!! I got this book to support my girl and to read all the stories (though I’ve been an ongoing fan of hers since the beginning of her time on VPR.) Fun fact: a great friend of mine worked as a hair&makeup artist for Bravo and VPR the first 4-5 seasons of the show and had nothing but great things to say about Ariana since she first met her. I am not much of a drinker but I wanted to support her and am actually going to buy a second copy to give as a gift because it’s on sale now!! The pictures are really vivid and gorgeous. I also love all the stories throughout. I’m only to page 33 but I love it!!! Great little coffee table book for sure.
