70th birthday framed GB stamps which were issued to commemorate the Silver Wedding of King George 6th and Queen Elizabeth (Queen Mum) in 1948. They were the parents of the current Queen, Elizabeth 2nd. Only two GB stamps were issued for the Silver Wedding the 2½d stamp as shown in pre decimal currency and a larger stamp which cost £1. The latter would now cost £40 to purchase according to the stamp catalogues. Other similar stamps for the Silver Wedding are also available in different colours which were issued in Commonwealth Countries.
