critical reading if you are aiming for selective schools
this book is full of incredible advice if you want your child to go to an independent school. the main lesson to learn from this book is you need to plan ahead and prepare way before applying.

Contains nothing spectacular
Just arrived and read in under an hour. This book tells you absolutely nothing that isn't already on the internet. I am very doubtful of the other reviews, as it is highly likely that before ordering this book, parents would have already done some research on independent schools and would see that this book offers no other information than what is already available. I paid £14.99 to much.

Invaluable
What Victoria Barker doesn't know about UK education isn't worth knowing. Her new book covers a lot of ground about school entrance at Pre-prep, Prep, 11+, 13+ and 16+. Lots of information, valuable tips and checklists. Highly recommended for all parents.

Not to be missed!
A goldmine of information, relevant to all of my children (aged from pre-prep to independent senior school age). I wish we'd had it whilst preparing for my eldest daughter's 11+, but am glad we have found it in time for her 13+! It certainly covers areas we wouldn't have thought of without it, which to my mind makes it worth the price tag, even though it is really a glossy magazine rather than a book as such.

An excellent guide into the world of independent schools in the UK. The book goes directly to the core of the many questions that parents have, by offering expert advice, unique perspectives from schools, and first-hand experiences of parents and students. A definite must for parents starting to think about independent schools for their children - you would be left feeling knowledgeable and well-informed about the entire system.
