Rapid Math Tricks & Tips: 30 Days to Number Power

Purchased this years ago and used it to teach my nieces and nephews tricks to do maths quickly. They loved the fact that with its help they could beat their friends AND teachers at doing sums! My copy got lost in a move, so bought this copy to continue teaching the younger nieces and now great-nieces not just how to do quick math, but to love it as well. It becomes like second nature to them and even now (the older ones being in their twenties) they still amaze their friends with their speed at math!

Awesome book. I purchased this book because I wanted to improve my financial literacy and realised that I needed to raise my maths game. It really helped me out a lot and now a lot of people say 'damn, your good with numbers'. I would also check out Vedic Mathematics; which this book touches on briefly. If only these books were taught to primary school children then we would have Einstein's already. Because current teaching methods and books are completely outdated. Damn.

I was good at maths, and have a degree in it. However my arithmetic skills were never great, as I was always trying to duplicate those clunky ways of carrying and borrowing we were taught. Some of the ideas in this book are common sense, but somehow just never occured to me, but some of the tricks are mysterious and magical. Mathemagic, in fact. Highly recommended.

I have no interest in learning 'rapid tricks', but I did have a bunch of job interviews, many of which required me to brush up on my mental arithmetic skills. This book was very useful in providing lots and lots of practice questions to get my mind working quickly again. Personally, I think to do mental arithmetic you just need practice, not a bunch of rules to remember - you'll find you get used to doing your own shortcuts very quickly. But, this book was great as a source of practice problems so I can recommend it on that front.

Bought this for my god-daughter as she was struggling with her maths. After 2 weeks of following the simple techniques her maths has improved and so to has her confidence with figures, even her teacher has noticed a difference. It only takes 10 minutes a day but so worth it even I've learnt alot.

Came quickly- book is really user friendly and straight forward and the tips are really handy. Have put it an application to do my PGCE for Primary Teaching next September so am using it to brush up on my mental maths skills for the pre-entry exams and then obviously for when I start teaching too!

So far, I've worked through this book (and its sequel) twice. And lo and behold, taking the same test at beginning and end I could complete more sums and in a faster time after working through the exercises. They are brilliantly simple tips that only require a few minutes of effort to practice. The only downside I've found is the tendency to forget and become rusty if you don't use your newfound skills regularly. I tried these as an adult but plan on using them with my son when he reaches upper primary/lower secondary age.

My dad so good on countdown and I thought I would try something that would give me a better understanding of maths and the tricks in this book are good even though we have calculators good to use the grey cells

I am/was an A+ math student all of my life and I still learned a few tricks. This book is a very easy read and will take your arithmetic abilities to the next level. If you're terrible at math, this book will make you half decent. If you're OK at math, you will become good and if you're good at math, you will become great. This book should be a part of the education curriculum All you need is an open mind and a positive attitude. The book will do the rest. Anyone, young or old, looking to improve their math skills should start with this book

this book is well written, it have a lot of tricks that are easy to learn and implement. my kids loved it and it help them to improve there speed on math, there grades and lower the time spent on home work. it help me at work, you never know how much math you do in a day in my field of Electronics in till you pay attention that you are not using a calculator. this book makes it so easy to find the answer without a calculator. I have the second book that is a continuation of this and is a good book too. More Rapid Math: Tricks and Tips: 30 Days to Number Mastery I highly recommend the book.

This book is so great for all ages, not just for students still at school. Faster mental calculation, simple tricks but very useful in daily life and the way writer Julius presents it really leads readers to the wonderful world of math in a sense. My kids (8th grader and 3rd one) devour the book at once and take turn to do ALL exercises, this fact alone proves that Mr. Julius already successful to challenge the readers to explore, to see not only the beauty of math but its application in life. Needless to say, I go through the whole book cover to cover with excitement like a student still in school. Kudos to this great book!

I bought this for myself several years ago. Very helpful "tricks" to help me with my thinking process. When my son-in-law started working as a craps-table monitor, he had to do the math of the winner in his mind, without the aid of any tools. I ordered another copy for him and he found it extremely helpful. (Now, they are able to use electronics to figure the winnings.)
