The Berenstain Bears Storybook Treasury Hardcover – February 28, 2012

I work with the pediatric population. I love how the book contains numerous stories, which is environmentally friendly and convenient for not only reading but space-saving purposes. Using them in my line of work teaches not only language skills, but storytelling skills. Children implicitly pick up on a clear story plot (beginning, initiating event, action, problem, solution, linguistic concepts, etc.). I grew up reading these books and I am glad that I was able to find them. My kids enjoy it thoroughly and I am sure I will be able to use them in the future as a learning tool. It really brings me back to my years as a child reading these books every time I share it.

This assembles six good Berenstain Bear books. One serious limitation to the collection is that three of those books are the shorter, simpler "rectangular" stories intended for beginning readers, while the other three are exactly what one would expect looking at the book's cover: the more complex "square" stories that are written with greater detail and complexity and are intended for parents to read to their children. In terms of printing, this leads several of the stories to have solid color bars along the margins to fill the empty space to the left and right of the un-re-formatted rectangular stories; in terms of content, it seems to me it would have been better (though less profitable) for this edition to include six of the more complex stories and to restrict the rectangular beginner books to another selected edition (as is the case with the "Big Book of Berenstain Bears Beginner Books").

My kids loved these books and now my granddaughter loves them. This Storybook Treasury has become her favorite book. It took her awhile to realize that she doesn't get the whole book read to her at bedtime, but she is happy with just one or two stories.There's something comforting for grandparents and parents when we see the new, young generations enjoying the same things their parents did.I am scouring the boxes in the basement to see if we saved any of the Berenstain Bear books that my kids loved.

Such a cute book filled with 6 Berenstain Bears stories! It’s quite thick and is quite heavy, but is great for bedtime or reading during the day for the kids. Would recommend this cute book of stories!

My daughter really enjoys this book, and so do I. The stories are for a slightly older child than the others, which was a pleasant surprise, because most of the Berenstain Bear books are beneath her reading level (she's in 3rd grade). Even so, she still enjoys them all. Even my high school aged daughter appreciates the stories! She already has plans to buy the complete set for her own children someday!

The hardcover book is very sturdy for little hands that like to carry books around & usually drop them too :). The stories that were picked for inside are terrific as are all Berenstain Bears stories, in my opinion.

My husband grew up on Berenstain Bears. He loves to read a story to our daughter every night and these stories are some of their favorites. Book is hard, somewhat padded, cover and very thick (meaning it has a lot of pages). The pages are durable and a thicker paper and lined with silver. This book fits perfectly with the rest of her story book collection. our daughter loves to go fetch it for bedtime. It will be something treasured in our family as it continues to grow. Amazing buy!

My goddaughters love this series and I enjoy reading them too. This is much more cost effective than buying them individually. Greta for beginner readers as well.

Very thick book with nice illustrations. Good for bed time stories or just to read with your kids anytime. :)
