good replacement for halogen but not as bright
I bought one of the EnergyBrite (Amazon ASIN: B00CNVM9NA) and one of the SuperLED (Amazon ASIN: B008U6S48Q) to trial before committing to further purchases.I installed them both in my bathroom alongside 2 50 Watt halogen lamps. Both LED Lamps are working OK and both LED Lamps seem to be as bright as the 2 Halogen lamps. It's hard to say for sure if the LEDs are brighter or dimmer than the Halogens and it's hard to say which of the 2 LED Lamps is the brightest. The SuperLED @ 5.5Watts uses 10% more power than the EnergyBrite @ 5.0Watts so I am a little surprised the light levels seem to be the sameThe main difference is the face of the lamps. The SuperLED is covered by glass and the EnergyBrite isn't covered (no glass, it's possible to touch the individual LEDs).I am going to buy more or both lamps. SuperLED lamps for the bathroom and kitchen because I feel more comfortable with the glass covered lamp. EnergyBrite for the spare bedroom & study room as these lamps seem to use less power.EDIT:I have replaced all the halogens in my bathrooms with these lamps and it is now really clear that the halogens were brighter. The light levels are OK for us in the bathrooms but these are not bright enough for the kitchen. I will need to find something brighter for the kitchen.

12 Volt LEDs
These are bright, although not as bright as the 50 Watt lamps they are to replace but then they are flood and not spotlights. The white lamps my be brighter as opposed to the warm white but this is a personal preference. If they are a direct replacement on a single transformer you might have trouble with the wattage being less than the transformer minimum. Having said that I have got them in banks of 3 or 4 of transformers, but the individual 'inrush' current may be insufficient singly. LED electronic transformers would cure the problem, at extra cost of course. If you have a lot of 50 Watt lamps and family who cannot remember to switch them off they might be a cost effective alternative.

Very bright but colour is not as warm
There seem to be lots of differing reviews about these bulbs- and here's another one I'm afraid!Brightness: absolutely as bright as our 50W halogens. Very impressive. However, this comes with a lot of glare from the surface-mounted LEDs- you really don't want to look at these, even from the side, as they are so bright. Normal halogens don't have this problem.Colour: they say warm white, but it's still a fairly stark, cold light. I've bought a few of these, but I'm going to keep looker for a bulb with better colour.(I've seen no flickering, even when trying them out with a dimmer. Maybe I'm just lucky with the transformers, which I believe are the cause (or not) of flickering.)

Good price at £5.99, but not so keen on the light it gives
It is nice and bright, and the price is good. However, the leds are not shaded over as they are in some more expensive units, which means if you look at the actual leds they are painful on the eyes. The light quality is not great either, but I can forgive that for the price. The unit is quite sensitive to the transformer you use. Some of them flicker very badly, but other transformers are fine. Feels like a budget product when compared to the more expensive versions I have tried, but the more expensive versions are just too expensive at >£10 for a 50w replacement. It is a good close second and is equiv probably to a 40w+ halogen, if you dont mind the fact that the leds themselves are not shaded. For me I will buy the more expensive ones as I think this is too bright for my toddler'e eyes when he is rolling around on the floor...

caution before purchase - check your fitting
This bulb may be good or not -- I cannot tell, as it won't fit my fittings! The base of the bulb is not the 'standard' rectangular cross section base normal on a MR16 bulb, but has a circular cross section. It will probably fit normal recessed ceiling fittings where tha connector does not enclose the base, but on fittings where the fitting expects the rectangular cross section, often used to retain the bulb in non-recessed fittings, it will not fit. The pins are also thinner amd slightly closer together than normal MR16, but this is probably not an issue in most cases.

LED bulbs are not yet ready.
I ordered ten of these bulbs, and while they arrived promptly they're not at all suitable for their purpose of lighting a room.A room that previously had five halogen spotlights now has five LED bulbs and feels dim. They're just not that bright.Worst still, of the ten I ordered only six are even usable:Two of the ten flicker horrifically. I keep seeing it out of the corner of my eye, which rendered them rejects. Two more of them work, albeit dimly, but are unusable due to the horrific "buzzing" sound they make when powered on.All in all a huge disappointment. In conclusion: Almost 50% of the bulbs received weren't usable, and of those that do actually work properly they're just no good.

Not as bright as I thought.
With words in the title like 'the brightest dms bulbs available, and 'super bright' I expected these to actually be really bright. I replaced two 50w halogen bulbs with these and they were not as bright as the halogens. The light that these gives off isn't as warm as the halogens either.Luckily I didn't have to replace the led transformer, hope they will last, I thought I noticed some flickering at first, but didn't notice it later.I played the LED lottery and was slightly disappointed they wasn't as bright as I thought.

Ideal replacement for low-voltage Halogen.
I waited a few months before reviewing these lamps just in case I also suffered the same reliability issues that others have faced. I am glad to say that so far they have operated without incident. To those who have complained about the low light output from these lights - you are probably using the wrong transformer! The transformer that comes with a halogen light is not suitable for LED. It's not simply a case of they are both 12V, Halogen lights have a high-inrush current which is tempered by the transformer to improve the filament life. It is this soft-start function that prevents LED lights from starting properly. Used with the correct transformer these LED lights are just as bright as Halogen - albeit a bit cooler in colour temperature, and a lot cooler in thermal temperature!
