Great mixer if you can't afford or don't want a bigger one.
I spent a very long time researching food mixers and in the end I decided to go for this one. For starters it's made by Bosch, so you know that this is going to be very well made. It has a slightly brushed stainless steel coating so it doesn't show the marks as much as a shiny steel one would. It's pretty compact compared to some of the other mixers I've seen and this means that it can stay out on my kitchen counter all the time and still be big enough to mix up all my cake mixtures. So far I have used it for -Mixing cakes - Using the beater attachment it mixes cakes beautifully. It is able to pick up all of the mixture from the sides and bottom without me needing to intervene. So far I have made 8oz cake mixes but I can tell that it would handle larger mixes easily. I made a coffee and walnut cake that I have made several times before and it definitely came out lighter than it would normally be.Butter icing - Again using the beater it is able to make a lovely batch of fluffy butter icing in no time. Using the plastic covering means that you don't get the icing sugar everywhere.Whipping cream - Using the whisk attachment I couldn't believe how quickly this whipped up a large tub of double cream. It was at least twice as fast if not 3 times as fast as my electric hand whisk. Also it really is great to be able to leave it whipping your cream whilst you go off and do other things.Slicer attachment - I had a very quick go with this and was able to mostly slice some carrots. I think more time is needed to get used to this as it seemed to chop my carrots in to lovely even rings and then about half way down the carrot would fall on it's side and then the rest would be sliced in long strips. I think it would work great with thicker carrots but struggle a little with thinner ones. This is fine as this isn't really why I bought the mixer.Grater - I haven't tried to grate anything but I did have great results with grinding pecan nuts. I thought I would give it a go as I didn't have anything else I could use as a grinder. I put the disc in on the fine setting and it ground the pecans beautifully.Juicer - I haven't tried this yet as it's a bit too much messing about just for one lemon or orange. I will definitely try it next time I make a lemon cheesecake and need several lemons.Overall I would definitely recommend this mixer if you are like me and want a good quality mixer that isn't too big or too pricey. It has so far performed every task with ease and I am looking forward to baking many more cakes with this. The only downside I can think of is that the electrical cord is only about a meter long so if you can't get it close to a socket then you will need to buy an extension lead.

THE BEST KITCHEN FRIEND AFTER 40 YEARS OF COOKING
I have a large family (5 grown up children) and for 35 years I've been happy with my Kenwood Chef but the time came to change the mixer. I'm only cooking for me now and don't need such a large machine. It's very difficult to know which one to chose so I took my time. This one caught my eye mainly due to so many positive reviews but there are always exceptions to the rule which makes me wonder what people expect. Taking a realistic view I decided to go with this one and I am amazed at how quiet it is, even on the fastest speed, compared to the old Kenwood Chef. My little dog never got used to it and hid when I used it but she doesn't even flinch when this little baby is working! It's early days but these are my initial findings:It really does pay to read the booklet - don't be put off by the bulk of it. Each language is only a few very useful paragraphs long.- You do have to get used to the way unfamiliar fitments clip on and off but do it a couple of times and it soon becomes easy.- The juicer was so easy once I realised the bowl that catches the juice isn't fixed to the part you press the fruit on, my fault! It's all VERY easy and you just rinse it under the tap- The machine manages dough WITHOUT ANY PROBLEMS AT ALL and the results are excellent.- I make a lot of cakes so the end product is all important to me. So far the results have been better than I could have ever expected from a mixer costing £99. With a light and fluffy texture they really are the best I've ever made. And yes, I did have to get the mix from the side of the bowl but I just don't care. If you expect miracles you will be very disapponted with anything you buy. I don't and I'm delighted. I would recommend this product all day long. Another excellent product from the Germans!Today I have used the attachments for the first time. I have grated cheddar cheese using the fine grater. Assembling the parts was straight forward but for the time being I am keeping the guide leaflet at hand. A woman of my age has usually tried using these fancy attachments over the years and been disappointed due to fiddly parts and not worth the bother. Well, not this time. Every stage from assembly to grating, to clearing up was completely stress free and so quick and easy I shall be using it in future to grate the whole cheese rather than hand grate each time I need it. I can see myself enjoying cooking again - this has really given me a lift and I look forward to using this wonderful machine over and over again.
