Help! My Dinosaurs are Lost in the City!: A Fun Spotting Book for 2-4 Year Olds (Help! Books)

My 2yr old daughter loves this book so much that I have read it at nap and bed time since Christmas. She now knows the names of all the dinosaurs and likes to point them out on the last page. Outside of having just read it to her for like the 30th time in half as many days, my only complaint is that I wish it was a board book. I find those easier to hold and a couple of the dinosaurs are close to the crease and the pages don't lay flat, but I read whatever makes her happy and this is one if those books.

Bought this for a 2 year old birthday gift. Decided on something else because I felt like this would be too difficult for that age. I kept it for my kids. My 3 1/2 year old loves it. She asks to read it almost every night, although the knows where all of the dinos are by now. The only complaint I have is that they are VERY hidden. As in, you can only see small parts of the Dino you are searching for. For a book aimed at small kids, I think they could’ve been just as hidden, but still be able to see most of the dino.

Even though it says 2-4 years old, my 18 months daughter LOVES it. She loves finding the matching dinosaurs, and she would give herself a couple big claps when she finds it! We also ask her to find all types of animals and things, very stimulating and interactive book. She reads it at least 2-3x a day.Slight downside, it is a paperback and it can tear. However, my daughter have started memorizing the placements after 2-3 weeks, and its time to buy another one in the series.

Great book to read with your child. My son loves finding the lost dinosaurs. He gets so excited when he finds them. His little sister is starting to be able to find them too. This is a really fun book to read. I look forward to ordering more in the future.

The dinosaurs you are supposed to find are 80% hidden. The pages also include similar looking dinosaurs , which confuses my son. Love the concept just disappointed in the execution.

What a cute cute book. I bought it for my granddaughter when she was still two and she absolutely loves this book! Doesn’t matter how many times we read it, she loves searching for the dinosaurs! It has peeked her interest so much that we are now buying the other books from this author!

What a GREAT book. My 2.5 year old son just loved doing this book! He did it both with help and without it.One thing he did notice, on the cover there’s a blue dinosaur and in the book he’s red. Everyone else is the same. (He used the cover like a checklist, so a whole ‘nother activity!!)Thanks for making such a great book!

Excellent book for toddlers. You can follow the format or go back th through it looking for other groups! Not too easy to find. They have to look! Perfect!

As a doting grandma to two dino-daft little boys, I’m always on the lookout for new dinosaur-themed books, toys and games to feed their infatuation. And this ‘Where’s Wally’ type book is just brilliant. Maybe a little bit too challenging for the lower end of the recommended 2 to 4 years age range, but still a fun and fascinating adventure regardless of a child’s ability to find the hidden dinosaurs.What’s really appealing about it is that it actually tells a story as well: Someone went and left the window open and all the dinosaurs escaped. Can we find them and bring them safely home?Each spread features a different setting, such as the park, a funfair, an office, a picnic, a classroom, the playground and so on. The aim it to find the 2 dinosaurs—all of them different—hidden in each scene. It’s not easy, but I find that giving some hints like suggesting to look for a specific colour really helps. My 3 year-old especially likes that all the dinos have cool names, which he already knows off by heart, all 27 of them! I was a bit worried that the difficulty level would challenge their patience, especially of the 2 year-old, but with a bit of guidance and cajoling they’re happy to study each page closely for as long as necessary.In terms of design, the book is attractive and colourful, with detailed illustrations that offer lots to talk about. For example, once they’ve found the dinos, you can get your little ones to look for other items on the page. It’s a great way to learn new words.Thanks for reading my review. My 3year old enjoyed looking for the dinosaurs but found it quite easy. That said he’s still read it quite a few times. It’s colourful and simple though, good for a car journey. In terms of quality I thought the text looked pixelated and not very crisp like it was either low resolution or printed on a non-industry standard printer. Also the last page says you’ve found the 27 dinosaurs but it doesn’t show them all as my son pointed out. Only 23. But if that doesn’t bother you then you’l love it!

First impressions were great, the book looked perfect. However when I flicked through, half the pages are about a little girl learning Italian and not dinosaurs. Also in the middle of the book, quite randomly are pages on the publishers. I am not sure how it got through quality control. Really disappointed as I had intended to give this to my niece but instead I am asking for a refund, which is a real shame as it would have been perfect for her as she is dinosaur mad.

Perfect entertainment for a 2 year old. It requires some concentration to look for them, but it is no where as difficult as 'Where's Wally'. Was able to spend 20 to 30 minutes playing with this book for some sitting down fun. Lots of pages which is more than toddlers concentration all in one sitting. Perfect.

Got this for my 3year old grandson who is mad about dinasaurs it’s not to easy to find the dinasaurs so it is great fun.
