Swagtacular!
This is quite honestly a most fabulous show, alas the detail that is stopping me from giving 5 stars is the lack of DVD extras. Other than that its fantabulous :)

Prototype Mrs Brown's Boys for the Macassar generation
Comedy can be a great time capsule - it represents the minutiae of everyday contemporary life when it was filmed. That's also true of this comedy, but sadly that's where the interest ends. This is very much of its time and the humour is tame music hall quickfire banter and slapstick. Countless jokes are thrown at the wall but none of them seem to stick while constant pratfalls are taken and punches are mistimed. Things get repeated; the matriarch falls into the water of a pond, two men fall into the water of a bath tub. The film is messy which isn't helped by the total lack of a storyline - this is only partially redeemed by a subplot about a business man and his one-that-got-away-ex that ends with a confused whimper, while a contrived stand up routine, where the matriarch has a one sided conversation 'over the garden wall' with an imaginary, silent neighbour, causes the project to stall completely in the third act. Probably funnier in its day but still vaguely enjoyable in parts - just don't have high expectations.

Perfect
When I first saw this on amazon I wasn't sure it was the real thing as rarely do American cartoons get a UK release (looking at you, Gravity Falls) and I was hesitant to be the first to buy it. Eventually I got fed up waiting for others to make reviews and went for it, and was pleasantly surprised to find that it is completely what it says - Over the Garden Wall on a Region 2 DVD!I don't know about the blu-ray, but the DVD only has 'play all', 'chapters', 'setup' and 'trailers', so no bonus or behind-the-scene stuff (a bit annoying because I know the American version has those things, including commentary and the pilot which I'd love to see), but I am grateful that I do, finally, get to own OTGW at least. If you're already a fan, go for it, if you're not, you're in for a spooky, nostalgic treat!

Just Watch This Series
This is easily one of the best animated series I've ever watched. The ten-episode series follows brothers, Wurt and Greg, as they make their way through a forest known as the Unknown, a place where a dark entity is lurking in the shadows.Everything about this show is brilliant. The art style is beautiful. There isn't anything over the top about it, it's simple and pretty and effective for it.The voice cast does an amazing job bringing the characters to life. You have big name stars like Elijah Wood, Christopher Lloyd, and John Cleese. But you also have newcomers like Collin Dean, who does a brilliant job voicing Greg. And the music. The music is astounding. The whole series has a 19th/early-20th century vibe to it, with the artwork and the character designs, but it shines through its music. It's haunting in places and really sets the tone right away.If ever there were a series I would recommend watching more, it would be this one. It tells a great, complete story in 10 episodes, that left me feeling both sated and wanting more. It's great.

Great Little Show - Shame No DVD Extras
Just arrived and as I have already seen this show, I know I liked it anyway. I was just disappointed that their was no extras at all, not even commentaries or behind the scenes. Show is worth the watch though.

Blu Ray is the only way to watch this
Obviously this is one of the best animated series ever created, dark, imaginative and beautiful so my review is more about the product itself. It is a limited edition so comes in a nice cardboard cover slip (need to get it as my laptop background!) unfortunately ruined by the horribly massive PG marking as seen in the photo, yep it really is that big! However the quality of the Blu Ray image is fantastic, i never even noticed before that the backgounds have a texture to them like they were painted on a canvas. There are no posters or leaflets but printed on the inside of cover is a list of episodes that can be seen through the case. It also has several bonus features that i haven't watched yet such as trailer, pilot episode etc.
