If you're wondering how we could ever improve upon the Sun and Moon, let alone the Version 2, we're with you. Aside from the insertion of our new caliber F6B24, aesthetically, there are a few subtle differences. The day and sun and moon sub-registers of the Version 3 have been shifted to be concentrated on the left two-thirds of the dial. Additionally, the print of the Roman numeral hour numbers has been lifted, making them appear a tad larger and bolder. The dial conveys the same level of depth as the previous version; however the concentric and guilloche detailing seem to be more pronounced and crisp. In short, the Sun and Moon Version 3 picked up where it's predecessor left off, and became even more refined. Dimensions-wise, the Version 3 has remained unchanged. It still sits at 42.5mm across, and 14mm thick. (which is attributed to its domed sapphire crystal).

The most accurate watch I own?
This is likely the most accurate of the five automatic watches I have right now. I haven't checked the accuracy of each one so I can't swear to it, but I'd be surprised if any were more accurate than this one - it's lost 15 seconds in the 11 days since it was delivered to me. *Shakes head*...wow. That kind of accuracy is almost unheard-of for an automatic; my $900.00 Swiss-made Louis Erard is nowhere near that accurate (though in fairness I've thought for years now that I should get that watch adjusted and just haven't done so yet). This Orient watch is as beautiful as everyone else says it is; due to the combination of its appearance and its price point, it's suitable for any occasion from a black-tie fĂȘte to going for ice cream in jeans and a t-shirt. I thought my drop-dead gorgeous and beautifully made Bulova 96C141 was going to become my go-to watch after I received it, but I find myself going to this watch instead and saving the Bulova for fancier dress; because this watch wasn't even $300.00 I don't feel like I need to worry about it getting banged around (though I don't tend to bang my nice things around if I can avoid it). So I guess I wind up (heh - watch pun there) looking like I've got money because I'm wearing this very fancy- and expensive-looking watch when I'm at my most casual...when in fact I do *not* have a lot of money, but I appreciate a beautiful and impressive-looking watch like this one no matter what I'm doing, plus this watch's accuracy makes wearing it kind of a no-brainer if for some reason I decide I actually want to know what time it is. Or what day it is. Or the date, or whether it's daytime or night. Because this watch will tell me all of that, very accurately, for a fraction of the price of many automatics with the same (or a smaller) number of complications.Of course, I can't say that every one of these watches will prove as accurate as the one I was fortunate to receive; I can only say that mine is accurate enough to inspire my wonderment and delight.I was cautious about buying an Orient watch because I don't remember having heard of the company before I started seeing its watches here on Amazon maybe a few months ago, and I thought it might be some new company, producing inexpensive (and therefore, presumably, low-quality) watches that I'd do best to stay away from. But in fact, the Orient watch company traces its roots back to the Yoshida Watch Shop, founded in Tokyo in 1901. This company went through some twists and turns, trials and tribulations (like, say, oh, I don't know...two world wars...little stuff like that...), shutting down, starting up again, and eventually becoming the Orient Watch Company, Limited in 1951. So this is not some fly-by-night startup company, and its watches are made in Japan, the place I personally regard as second only to Switzerland in the manufacture of quality timepieces. (I'm not an expert; there could be other, better watchmakers in other countries...but if so, I don't know about them.)So I'm just saying I no longer think this is a company to be taken lightly. It's proven itself to *my* satisfaction, at least. In short, this is a lot more watch than I expected to receive for the $217.00 I paid. And as of this writing, Amazon's price has dropped even lower, to $201.79.If you're thinking about buying this watch, I'd say just do it. For this price (and given that it's a Prime item fulfilled by Amazon, which means that if for any reason you *don't* love it, returning it will be so easy it's silly), you just cannot go wrong.

Great classy piece
If I had to nitpick anything about this watch it would be how some numerals are cut off and how TUES is not within its ring. I understand they did TUES the way they did to avoid it being cut off, but WED was left within the ring and is slightly cut off, so I would rather they kept the symmetry and the expense of a cutoff letter. Similarly, I would have preferred the complications placed and sized slightly differently so certain numerals weren't missing their 'feet'. But again, just nitpicks that aren't important enough to lower my rating. That being said, this is a very excellent watch. I already have a small collection and just the few minutes I spent wearing it to adjust the band and try it on (I haven't had a chance to wear it anywhere) this may be my favorite so far. The watch is extremely comfortable and lightweight to the point I could see forgetting I even have it on. This is my first leather strap with a clasp (not sure if that's the actual name for it) and it works remarkably well offering the snap-on convenience of a metal bracelet, with the comfort and easy wrist sizing (no fiddling with removing links!) of a leather band.Despite my earlier nitpicks, this features a beautiful and elegant dial. I opted for the "brown" model and the sepia toned dial combined with the copper toned body matches probably even better than the pictures give it justice. And then you add in the brown leather and it's a complete package where every part compliments each other in a way few watches pull off this well, in my opinion. There's really not much to be said about the craftsmanship of this piece. It's an Orient which is a quality watchmaker. This watch is a bit pricey, but not absurdly so. I believe you get what you pay for and this watch strikes the perfect balance of price vs quality and features which gives it great value even if it's not a so-called investment watch like a Rolex or Omega or such (which I would be almost scared to even wear).I don't write many reviews, and it's a testament to how impressed I was with this particular watch that I took the time to do so. Even my last watch which was a Tissot around the same price point didn't inspire me to take the time out of my day to wax poetic about it (it was quite nice too but I didn't find it as comfortable to wear).
