Once the strand is well positioned with each end secured and the sockets clipped firmly into place, take one bulb at a time out of its individual box and screw the bulb into a socket before moving onto the next socket and removing another bulb from its own box to repeat. The small boxes are easy to stow in a pocket while you're working, making for a safer, easier, quicker set up experience. If it is windy, be sure to secure the clips leaving enough space so that the bulbs don't knock against each other (or anything else!). To guard against bulbs breaking during installation, move the strands slowly.
