The perfect present for any runner
There are a lot of running books out there - some explain how to start running, how to then run faster and longer or talk about their journey as a runner. This one actually inspires you to get out there and have some running adventures!I've been lucky to do quite a few of the races in the book and Tobias not only accurately captures the feel of each but also provides helpful advice for doing them, as well as a great deal of humour in the accounts of his own attempts (plus some beautiful photography). There is something for everyone here - from 1 mile to several hundred miles, from obstacle races to racing trains, swimming and navigating over mountains. They are separated into categories from "Beginner" to "Hard as Nails" and whilst many are in the UK there are some spectacular races overseas worth travelling for. I usually race ultras, but have been inspired to add a few of the shorter races to my bucket list too and will be buying copies for friends who I want to drag along with me!

Fantastic 'Argos Catalogue' for the runner in need of inspiration
Fantastic Book. Though clearly a very good runner, the author's passion for simply taking part comes across well. Furthermore the structure of the book, breaking down the events into categories according to their difficulty, makes selecting potential events much easier. I have run a couple of these races and though my times didn't live up to the author's his summation of the experience very much matched my own. It is now my go to book for picking my next challenge.

The limits are in your head!
Inspiring book, I was lucky to meet Tobias at dragons back and have made one of his photos as we scaled the Grib Goch on day 1.He writes with the same passion as he puts effort into his adventures. I would love to do half of what he has done. If you are a adventurer, trail runner, ultra runner or just want to read about a journey with no sure end to it then this is your book!

Racing Inspiration
Sadly I didn't pick my parents well enough to fulfil my dream of becoming an elite professional athlete. Which is why the next best thing is travelling the UK and abroad competing in amateur races in the outdoors. This book provides the perfect inspiration to plan years worth of racing adventures. In fact it was only a couple pages before I'd signed up to one of the races listed

Inspiration in a book
There are so many of these races that I could probably never do. But reading about them and seeing the beautiful pictures has inspired me to try. If I can only do one or two I'll be proud and I now can't wait to give it a go.

though I wouldn't agree with every race included as worthy of attention (wife carrying!??) overall a good read

Great Read
I have found this book both griping, insightful and encouraging. There are races and events here for everyone. There are helpful tips for entering these races and I love the way the author give an account of his experience of the race/event. It is inspiring to read about the Ultra events.
