So far, pleasantly surprised
I have been practicing karate for a few years and have class in the evenings. Sparring nights can be quite intense and take a lot of energy out of me. Between the high speed footwork drills, jumping, running, kicking, punching, as well as the various exercises in between, I'm usually completely exhausted. I have tried powdered supplements of L-Citrulin and Betanine but they are unflavored and taste awful and feel gritty. The BEAM powder mixes easily with water and has a nice taste to it, slightly tart but also sweet. Previously, I had tried Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard Pre-Workout, but the problem with that is that it has caffeine which is not a great idea with evening exercises and then having to wake up early. The BEAM Pre-Workout powder has been great in helping me get through classes and still have the energy to be strong throughout the whole night. I've waited a few weeks to write a review because I wanted to make sure that the results aren't just in my head and I'm experiencing a placebo effect (which I suppose still can't be ruled out) but I can say that the results have been consistent.

Nice Energy Boost Without The Caffeine
I'm no stranger when it comes to energy drinks and pre-workout mixes. I've tried many different brands over the years. Some of them great, and some of them not so great. This BEAM pre-workout falls somewhere in between. The main highlight of this one is it being caffeine free. Even without the caffeine, this pre-workout provides a nice boost to both energy and focus. Not as much as those pre-workouts containing caffeine, but still pretty decent. There's a good amount of beta-alanine in this, which always gives me a tingling and itching sensation. The pink lemonade flavor is okay, but it's not my favorite. There's also a slight aftertaste to it. This pre-workout doesn't seem to dissolve all the way either, which leaves it a bit grainy towards the end. Regardless, this pre-workout is effective, and I love that I can use it without having to worry about consuming too much caffeine.

Non-stim preworkout for late night workouts or caffeine sensitive individuals
Most pre-workouts have high levels of caffeine which makes taking it late in the day a question of how late are you going to sleep. Having a good non-stim preworkout is a way to get your late night workouts in without sacrificing getting to sleep. It didn't lead to crazy pumps or overly vascular, but my mood and clarity improved. BEAM seems to offer a good product. The ingredients listed on the label have nootropic benefits like focus and memory as well as calming ingreints like KSM66 and l-theanine. Taking a single scoop of this made me feel motivated and clear headed going into an evening workout and did not keep me up late.Priced at $46.99 for 40 servings at the time of ordering, this competes with some of the higher end brands. With the strong flavor and solid ingredient profile, it should easily compete with the bigger brands in terms of which I would pick, however its high price for a small name at this time makes it not a fantastic value yet.I think their target demo is women, but I like this product and would recommend it to others or order again for that stim-free goodness.

So far, so good
Subjective experience: The taste is actually pleasant. The effects of drinking it start immediately--a rush of energy and slight sweating. I drink it right before going into the gym (also, I would not drink it on an empty stomach). The impact on exercise is hard to determine precisely (was it the drink or a placebo effect?), but I feel like I have a little more endurance on some of my heavier lifts after drinking it. I also like the lack of caffeine, which some pre-workout supplements overly rely on.Objective comments: This drink has a number of at least somewhat well known compounds. L-citrulline and resveratrol may help enhance blood flow by dilating blood vessels. Beta alanine reduces muscle acidity. It also contains L-tyrosine, taurine, theanine, and other compounds known or alleged to help with focus and energy levels. This is one of the better pre-workouts I have tried, both from my subjective experience using it and because of the choice of compounds included. The only real negative to mention is the price, which is fairly high on a per serving basis, especially if you take two scoops at a time.

I'm not convinced it works
I have been working out 5-7 days a week for the last 2 years. In those 2 years I never once touched a pre-workout.Some days if I was particularly tired I would make a coffee, but that's about it.When I opened this up I fell in love with the packaging. It looks really nice. It's much "classier" than the pre-workouts I had in my early 20s that had names like "Death Grenade" or "Face Melter" with skulls all over it. This is much more "adult"When I tried it for the first time I was also blown away by the flavor. It tastes really good. But nothing happened. No energy, no focus, nothing. I felt exactly the same over 30 minutes later and did my workout as normal. I track all my stats and there was no increase in performance for my workout.I tried it again on a day with my peloton, and once again I felt nothing and performed as expected. For a week straight, I would use this, but the result was always the same.I decided to stop using it for a week and see what happened - I ended up getting a new PB on my peloton. So overall, I'd say it's pretty tasty and looks nice, but I haven't been convinced it does anything at all. That might be my personal biology or all mental, I can't pretend to know the reason.
