Disney's Six Days, Seven Nights [DVD]

A great film and Ford at his best.

I loved this film and David Schwimmer from Friends was in this film. Along with Temura Morrison who is Jango Fett and Boba Fett in the Star wars films and series. It was a good film showing how to survive on a deserted island.

I have watched this movie today for the Nth time and had a good laugh, again! I just can't help it. I love it. I have seen in a theater in Brussels when it first came out, then on various airplanes, and decided to buy the DVD on Amazon. I will probably get the Blue-ray disc when it comes out.I love the story: older man, cool, witty, rough, adventurous. That is me. Or at least it's what I'd like to be. Younger career woman, completely different from him, fashio freak, follows the rules but likes to break them: that is the woman I would like to meet. They eventually both change their ways because they fall in love with each other.The pace is great, lots of unpredictable twists and turns, quite a few memorable lines. My fav is when Ford realizes they have little chance of getting rescued and tells her: "We are going to be together on this island for a long, long, ... long, long, long time!". He says it so well, with all the right pauses!I have the impression the DVD version cuts out some parts: I seem to recall that in the theater version they actually make love on the island, while in my DVD they just kiss. Whatever.A good version of the tested stuck-on-an-island theme, but also a wake up call for all those who dream of finding paradise in the wild tropics.

Anyone who is my age (50 something) will remember the screwball comedies with Cary Grant/Spencer Tracy/katherine Hepburn. This is in the same vein, classic one liners, oddball situations and good solid leads.Here we have Ford and Heche having a whale of a time lost at sea on a desert island. Both are in relationships (Heche engaged) and hating each other.The scene is set for some very funny set pieces with Heche playing a bit of a brat and Ford bringing her down a peg or two. The two leads are quite beliveable with Harrison is on fine form showing us he can do comedy quite well.Without giving away plot but you will guess they find love, pirates and desend rapids as well as the odd snake,scorpian etc.This is without doubt a good way to spend one and a half hours of excellent entertainment.

I liked the movie although I thought Harrison Ford wasn't stretched too much by the script. Anne Heche put in a good performance alongside Harrison Ford but the script was weak at times. David Schwimmer was playing "Ross from Friends" in another movie which annoyed me. Overall a fun, action movie that is light hearted entertainment. Worth a viewing.

Ordering a dvd that doesn’t play due to restrictions I am done ordering any thing video/ dvd

Mildly amusing, but the story line is weak and the acting unexceptional.

Dvd wouldn't play! Just showed a message that I needed to find the correct region!Returned it for a new one. It's been 2 weeks and no DVD has come!
